Hi guys, i spoke with Weistec and they are not offering any more the throttle blip software for the CLK63 BS..do you know why? Any of you have reported some problem after the modification?? I have an appointment in a few weeks with a specialist in spain (car-tec) to add the blip but im a little bit worried about it..really our 7g tronic trans can allow that function? Your throttle blip works in all modes C S M ? after the revision in the dealer the software is not removed isnt it? Thank u for your help.

 

I had the blip mod on my previous CLK 63 (non BS) for 2 years (40 000km) without any issue. It has 20 000km more since I sold it to a friend and no issue.

 

I have no issues with the blip, in fact i would like it more aggressive. The blip only works in S M modes. I have been to the dealer without any issues. However, make sure the dealer doesn't re-flash the ECU/TCU for any reason. Just tell your service manager you prefer not that have any of those service bulletin items done (if there are any). The owner of the software (Ralf from Germany) is missed too..and the last new i got from him 6 months ago was the same.."the mod wasnt avalaible"..it is strange and makes me think maybe happend something wrong...anyway..its fantastic no problems reported by the moment.

I have the blip ( up rev ) from Renntech and I have no issues , i track the car a lot , and it's fantastic . Mine does it in all theee , C, S, M.

 

All modes ? Usually it is only in M ans S mode. C stay inchanged.

 

Yes I have several mod's. Engine wise just a tune and long tubes . The blip that renntech did works in c mode for me too . Very light in c mode hardly noticeable in daily driving , but works perfectly in s and manual mode . No issues to speak of .

 

Dime Racing offers throttle blip via tune as well, although I am not personally familiar with their company or product.

I had Weistec do my TCU and upgraded valve. So far working fine. I think they no longer offer it because of legal or technicality issues. I read somewhere on this forum that the main programming guy from Weistec is now working for Dime racing, and he brought all the tuning stuff with him. Not sure if there's any truth to that, but last time I checked Weistec was having some management issues.

 

Dime is the same company that started Weistec ,
I want to get their Blip but scared of touching my car.

 

I don't what the issue is , all that's being done is the same thing as your foot could do . But im happy with mine . Renntech did mine and it's fantastic

 

Derekm15, it is only software that is reversible, if you don't like it for any reason.

 

I understand that but maybe the transmission doesn't end up liking it or a bit aggressive for our transmissions and something ends up getting ruined. You are really changing what the car was never designed to do "originally".

Hey these cars are not delicate . I highly doubt you'll do anything to the transmission that will hurt it . These cars are track cars with high Hp and tq . You'll be fine and you'll like the car even better

 

I mean come on ' there is a differential cooler and pump , you really think it get hot on the street ?

 

IMHO, I understand there are concerns and risks with any change. However, this rev match program is from the same transmission with newer software programing. All that is being done, is to apply the newer software version to the CLKBS model year that didn't have it, all other parts are essentially the same.

Its like updating your existing cell phone with the latest iOS or Android software release, same phone with newer software.

My point is to clarify any misconceptions about this rev match update. There seems to be a lot of myths floating around in the Inter-Web about this.

 

Has anyone purchased the throttle blip software from Dime? I wanted to get mine done...

 

Hi guys, as you know I am from Spain and I have tried to program the throttle blip in a specialized workshop but for the moment we have not been successful. Its more complicated than its seems since when you are braking the engine control unit gives the order to close the intake butterfly which makes "the gas strike impossible". We continue studying and looking for a software solution to this problem and just wanted to share it with you. I have spoken with the colleagues of EDOK performance but they can not travel to Spain to reprogram only one car and I can not travel to Germany at the moment. Any idea that may be helpful to get the desired throttle blip (im scared to send de tcu and ecu unit out of the car). Thank you all.

 

I understand that Ralf (and others) spent a lot of time working on that same issue before they were able to release the blip update. Best thing would be to get a hold of Ralf somehow and take a drive up to Germany, if possible. Best of luck!

 

Of course Moflo, they must have devoted many hours of work to have achieved it (and that is to be admired.. It seems that the software of the gearbox has thousands and thousands lines of code ) The workshop that I am talking about is one of the best in Spain and I do not know if in the end they will be able to decipher the enigma. I spoke with Ralf long ago and I tried to come to Spain but I did not get it. Apparently the only solution at the moment seems to be a trip to Germany ...and its a long trip..

 

 

Been a while since I've been on here, but thought I should chime in on this since I experienced a trans failure and had the Weistec blip software.
Not sure if the software had anything to do with the failure, but the transmission failed at 43K miles, about 15k of those were with the blip software. My wife drives the car daily and does't even use the paddle shifting.
I had the transmission rebuilt through Dinan. For those that don't know they deal with Mercedes now and have many contacts and access to many shops and services. Still don't know what caused the failure, but these transmissions are well documented to have failures....as I learned once googling around after mine failed.
After the transmission was rebuilt, it was reinstalled and the software was gone, despite the thought that it may be retained. I later learned that the valve body was also replaced and upgraded with a newer unit.
This is where it all gets interesting. The ECU and TCU were sent back to Weistec for reprogramming. However, Weistec struggled with it for days and in the end could NOT reprogram for the new valve body. Evidently, the newer valve bodies are not compatible with the old rev match software. I thought I was doomed until I happened to come upon Dime Racing. I called Dime, and as it turns out, the guys at Dime are basically the previous crew from Weistec. Long story short, the calibration engineer at Dime was able to program the rev match software for the new valve body. As I was told, I was the second customer to have a transmission built with the newer style valve body, but the first for such requesting the rev match software.
In the end, the trans is back in with rev match software from Dime. I'm convinced they are the ONLY ones who have this software available for the 722 trans with the new valve body.
Did the rev match software lead to the demise of the trans in the first place?? I have no idea, but there's plenty of failures of these transmissions out there without any rev match software, and I personally don't want the car without the rev match. Hopefully it holds up going forward.
I'll also say that the guys at both Dime and Dinan were extremely helpful throughout the process and not only kept me informed, but also worked well together to get things sorted out.

 

Ok i csn clarafy this disscuon im one of the first in the world that got this mod done i fly from australia to germany to get this done back in 2013 with my tcu and ecu ralf organised it for me but dani from edok performace has the master sortware for this he provided this service for the word so if u want it done contact edok perormance germany and to answer question its safe and just get it done best mod ever
