New-to-me 2013 CLS550
1 definite thing still to do (have the clear side markers and have yet to install). And 2 things I'm still thinking about
- adding 10mm spacers to the rear wheels
- taking out the resonators and adding in an x-pipe in its place
I've read that some have taken out the resonator and put in straight pipes and are not happy with the idling sound. Never heard if putting in an x-pipes help or not!
Other than that, I've been really happy with the way the car drives and the lowering links were a breeze to install. now onto the last couple things!!
Here's a couple pics taken so far....

The muffler place told me that the x-pipe is the least aggressive sounding option..straight pipe, then h-pipe, then x-pipe. But each seemed to have its own drawbacks...
1) straight pipe - if the oem resonator joins the dual pipes, there must be some mechanical reason they want to even out the flow as it goes out the dual mufflers. So my thinking was not to mess with that.
2) H-pipe - was told it would sounds louder than the x-pipe, but it potentially creates more backpressure than you would want. Not an efficient way to get the exhaust out the back
3) X-pipe - evens out the flow going to the mufflers, and an efficient way to not create more backpressure, but its the least aggressive sounding of the options.
So the 4th option I guess if you want it louder would be to take out the secondary cats right before the X-pipe and then maybe you are getting the best of both worlds!
