'12 CLS 550 4matic
5 seat CLS??
My CLS is up in Sept. With 3 kids, I need my DD to be a 5 seater, just as a soild backup for wife's GL450. I was going to simply revert to an E550 4matic sedan, which I had and really enjoyed, before my CLS. Now I see that the E550 is "kaput" and the 400 is best avail. If the CLS went 5 seater, would be a no brainer.. Anybody hear any rumors or possibility of this for '16.
I'm sure I just reaching here.

Not happening as it would cannibalized the E Class sales, and would also defeat the purpose of the 4-door Coupe concept.

It is a bummer about the loss of the E550 here in the states.

Not too sure about E class issue, cause they are in very different price ranges. The coupe concept is actually based on this. Coupe in French, means "cut". That's why two doors are called coupes and 4 doors a sedan (or saloon in UK). The way you get a coupe designation on a 4 door, is to cut / lower the roofline. Hence the low cut roofline on the CLS.

If you want the 4 door coupe body, but still want 5 seats, take a look at the Audi A7. Downright SEXY design on the A7! However the HP numbers might be down compared to the CLS.
