I saw another write-up here saying the fronts thread off but the rears you have to remove the panels.

NOT TRUE! Yes, the front screw off [use a set of pliers and a small cloth or towel]...but the rears just pop off...just make sure you grab the upper part firmly with a plier and towel and pull straight up...they should pop right off
By the way, those of you that get the metal replacement kits...make sure you get the set with 2 different sizes since the rears are shorter....and I used some blue locktite

His statement is true to a certain extent. The safest way to remove the rears is by removing the door panel. If you pull off the pins, whatever they're attached to can fall into the door & be more of a pain in the ***. Some people, like yourself, have had success just pulling them off tho.

I'm not sure. Mine is '14. When I asked Carlsson USA about installing the rears that was the response I got. Supposed to remove the door panel.

Just did my new door pins last nite on my '13. Did the rears like Aceman1120 with no issues, though I used the technique of supergluing the pin to the "ball" that is left sticking out from the door panel when you pull off the stock pin.

I think the recommended way (take the door panel off) is so if you do want to "push" the new pin over the "ball", you need to push down and you could potentially break the internal levers behind the panel. if you take the panel off, you can push the pin down over the ball much easier cuz you can hold the other end in place.

But if you are OK with gluing in place then I don't believe you need to take the door panel off. BTW if you do the glue technique, the pin potentially stays a bit higher than it is supposed to, do I actually drilled out the inside of the pin so that it would rest where it is supposed to....

Aceman, can you post a pic of your finished product and also, what brand did you get or who did you buy from? Thanks in advance.
