From my knowledge and sources the LED headlights are the same size, no change in measurements or size, the new lights will be a straight swap BUT the wiring and control box to the new headlights is different.
The front and back bumpers have the same fittings with no difference in measurements or size when it comes to fitting them, so straight swap BUT... Beware though the pre facelift CLS has the led day time lights which require modification to fit onto the new bumper if you decide to keep the old headlights. The new headlights have the day time lights built into them.

I don't think you can simply exchange the grills, you would have to swap the entire bumper. I have seen an aftermarket diamond grill that would fit into the 2012-2014 CLS but I am suspicious to the quality of it as I have not seen it in person (I think it is fairly hard to switch them out as well)

We kinda know that. I think you misunderstand, we are trying to find out if the facelift 2015+ bumper, grille and headlights can be interchanged with 12-14...or maybe I'm the one who misunderstands.
I have seen that on eBay as well; I question the quality and the fact that the bumper has to be taken off to install; seem like that alone would be a couple hundred so then you are 500-600 in the hole. That's a fair amount of money
I forgot that I had saved a pic of that 2012 with the Diamond grille I saw for sale. I believe it was either out of Florida or Texas. I think I'm gonna shoot for the whole face lift bumper and grille.
My car is a 2016 and I can tell my bumper is slightly different but I believe the dimensions for the grill would be the same. The Headlights would be the tell tell for me. I think they changed the design in 2015

Actually, 2015s had both headlights. The Grille is totally different, the 12-14 will not fit 2015+ or vice versa.The bumper however is a direct fit, you'll have to figure what to do with the DRL strip. I have the bumper but the grille and trim pieces have been incredibly hard to source reasonably.

i sourced out all parts for the face lift and the total was $700 shipped to the door... it’s incredibly hard to source out each piece from different websites, also nobody carries the cls facelift versions.. so mbvehicleparts is a good place to start
