weird sound on turbo when starting up
has anybody notice the turbo sound when they start there car. my right side turbo makes a scraping/flapping noise right when i start it up. It sounds like it does not have enough oil and it scrapes or flapping. When the car is warmed up the sound goes away. I thought these were state of the art turbos? does my turbo have shaft play or something? i probably need more oil or an oil change. at 8k already. On cold starts it is a lot more noticeable then you can hear it change noise.

I have the same sound coming from my cls on cold start ups. Hear it for about 3-4 seconds and then goes away. Got it checked at the dealership and no faults were found. I guess its normal.

Bro it was exactly what pare5 mentioned. it was chain tensioners and valve problem. I got it fixed at the dealership. It seems like a common problem with M278 engines. My car is only 8000 miles driven and this problem occured. Its better to get it fixed before it stretches the chains which can cost a lot more.
