2013 CLS 550 TIRES

Hello
I am new to the forum.
I am hoping someone can guide me.
recently i noted a small bubble on the sidewall of my CLS- front tire.
Took it to the dealership and was told to replace the tire.
They offered me same tire at $272 installed.
When i pointed to the dealer that, tire rack is cheaper, he told me that the tires they carry have a sign "MO" which means they are made of Mercedes.

I told me i will look into it.

So my question- Is there really any difference between "MO" and no "MO" sign- rest of the tire specs/ brand are exactly same?

Thank you folks

I would not go with MO tires unless they are better priced than a comparable non MO tire. I would compare speed rating, load rating, and look at reviews posted on tire rack and discount tire direct. Also consider that dealership level installation can be more expensive than outside installers. This can easily add $30 plus per tire.

MO is for real. My Conti pro contacts say MO on them. But that does not mean non MO tires will somehow be a lot worse. Proper research will get you to the right decision. MO is not always the only good choice out there.

You can get the same MO tires on tire rack, they will list if a tire is MB OEM or not, same with other OEM spec tires. Is there a difference? Maybe, maybe not, you will never actually know. The vehicle manufacturer will spec a tire custom from the tire company, but often it's exactly the same as the one they normally sell.

My factory p-zeros were so damn noisy it’s hard to describe. While these cars seem to be lacking in road noise isolation in general, changing tires was a huge improvement. I was surprised how a top brand tire like that could suck so bad in that aspect. They were my first and last Pirelli tires.

Pzeros are noisy and the grip is terrible. I have no confidence in mine in the wet, it spins up with barely any effort, especially when they’re cold.
