LSD help
Hey guys. I'm brand new. I used to drive Cadillacs and Audi's up until last week when I totalled my DTS. At least the Audi still lives. But, went out and bought this 2014 CLS550 with 37k miles on it. I really liked it and picked one without the 4Matic. I have the Audi S6 with v10 and I absolutely hate the constant AWD. So I wanted RWD only this go around. But from Googeling and searching around for info on this CLS, I found it may be lacking an LSD? I also searched around for LSD's and found a Quaife and Wavetrac. If there are others, please let me know. But, when I go to these two company sites, I cannot find any LSD's that are for the CLS550 of my year. Is there something I am missing? Are those LSD's out of production? Or, is there any interchangeability where I can take another model's LSD and it work in the CLS? Sorry for all the questions. I searched around for a couple days now and really couldn't find the answer so I decided to join and post my question. I do know I plan on getting a Weistec tune. But I also know it will bum me out if I get this tune and still don't have LSD's.
*Side question. On my Audi, I used OBDEleven. It plugged into OBD port and had bluetooth and phone app. It is like VAGCOM and let me code the car and everything. Literally could do almost anything like code the battery, get the rear calipers to open to change pads all the way to enabling factory shut off options like having the LED's on all the time and doing the open window/close window thing with the FOB. Is there anything like this for the M-B?

You should have gotten the 4matic. With 4matic no need for limited slip differential. Anything can be done but can you do it? Most shops won't tinker that much. You would have to make it work mechanically then somehow add it to the computer when that is not a part of the computer system at all. Its not an option that's inherent to the system that you could just enable, so how do you add it. Maybe I don't know what the h*ll I'm talking about.
Mercedes use Star for programming, not sure it can get down as Audi's or BMWs system but it can do a few things. Search for Star C3 or 4, not sure what version is now available.
Next time you post try not to be so technical, this is a forum for car owners not a professional forum.

Sorry, didn't mean to be technical. I didn't think I was. I don't think an LSD rear would matter much in the way of electronics on the car. The traction control monitors wheel spin and slows the spinning wheel down to allow the other wheel to spin on it's current set up. But with the LSD, the power would go to the non spinning wheel and maybe beat the computer to the braking of the wheel spin. Either way, once I disabled the TC, I wouldn't have any electronic nanny there at all. I opted against the all wheel drive because it's not really that great. My Audi suffers big drivetrain losses. And it didn't really help me coming out of a turn once. The car spun 180 degrees and slammed a curb. Wasn't even going but 20mph but was getting out of the turn and gassed it. I know awd doesn't beat physics, but damn. My DTS(fwd) was more stable than the Audi was on the same turn. Lastly, no burnouts. Not really a priority of mine at all. But I do wish once in a while I could. But really, the drivetrain losses. I don't know if it's because of the 5.2L V10 or the losses on the drivetrain, but I only get about 16mpg on the highway. It sucks gas like it's a kid with a bottle of koolaid. I dunno. I'm just not impressed with constant awd. If there was a way to disable and enable the awd, I'd be all over that. But anyway. I already have an awd car so I wanted a car a little bit more "free" if you will.
Since I didn't find out about the LSD problem until after I bought the car, I'm just searching for a way to make it right. I read somewhere E550 owners going to a Quaife LSD rear. But can't get confirmation that those would fit the CLS550. I have an incling that it would since the CLS is based off of the E class. But not 100% sure.

I think I found a LSD that will fit! I have an email out to them. But if anyone is interested, stay tuned. I'll post the answer I get back. It's a Quaife unit.

QUAIFE has them! LSD's for this car(2014 CLS550 RWD). I got a reply back. I quote this out of the email.
"Turns out, according to Mercedes EPC, your model fits the QDF32B. Please find attached quote."
It's 985.33 pounds. I think that makes it a bit over $1,200 or so USD. Shipping included in price. Nice!

And to be sure this LSD would fit, before they gave me a quote, they needed my VIN number. So I gave that to them. So this part was checked to fit off of my VIN number, which is a US model 2014 CLS550 RWD. So I'm sure they got their part number right.
