Lane Keeping future doesn't work

Greeting!
after I lost 1st gen CLS550 by the traffic accident a couple months ago, I had spent quite tough time,
but now, I am very happy with my new one, 2014 Black.
Although I still am fond of the original style, I found myself enjoying much more advanced features of C218.

Now I would like to get your advice on the lane keeping assist, which doesn't look work properly.
When either standard or adaptive on Lane Keeping assist is chosen, the car warns me by vibrating the steering, but it doesn't correct the driving direction.
The green line appears on the graphics display when the velocity reaches the enough speed, however, at vibration the green line doesn't turn red, nor there is no correction of the steering.

I search internet and read the manual, but I couldn't find anything else I can do to enable that feature.
Your advise is very much appreciated.
The road condition I tried is one solid straight line the other broken line.

Cheers!!!

I don't know exactly how it works, but there's a single yellow center line on my neighbourhood street and it often vibrates if I touch or cross that line but it's never corrected the steering. I say that because I'm rarely going over 50km/h (30mph) on this street. The other day, I was going fairly fast on a main road and cut across the shoulder line a bit early to make a right turn and it worked... but I found it very jarring and unexpected. I was like WTF was that?! I was not expecting it. So I wonder if its speed related? Maybe you have to be going at a fairly high speed for it to correct the steering. But in my case, I'm considering turning it off. If it's going to start correcting my steering when I'm intentionally crossing lines to go around other vehicles (for a variety of reasons), then I don't want it. Of course if you signal, it seems to ignore any line crossing but I don't always signal when I'm making a move and no one is affected by it. But I'm admittedly an aggressive driver and don't need some automated system telling me how to drive.

My car never corrected me either. Every time my car went out of line without proper turn signal my steering would vibrate three times and that is it. I think its more of a notify you rather then correcting you feature. I did not have distronic plus but only lane keeping feature.

Hi guys

Thanks a lot for the response.
I kept researching the feature, that seems to be primitive capability...
But at least I like bind spot and parktoronic, working very good.

I also am having the same issue. When I get the chance, I'll have my MB dealer pick up the car and have all the warranty work done at one time. I don't drive the car enough to deal with those issue right now but once repaired, I will give you the exact answer not speculation.

The vibration is just a warning, if you continue to drift over the line it'll turn red on the dash and correct you. Apparently the system works up to 120mph! I'm not sure I'd want the brakes to be applied on one side of the car at that speed! lol.

I've turned mine off, it has dragged me towards more 18-wheelers and through more potholes than I can remember. It's a completely pointless feature/gimmick, IMO, as keeping in your lane is a pretty fundamental part of driving and if you can't keep yourself in the lane, maybe you need to have some more practice

Yes, I have a 2014 CLS550

Yes, I have all the options but haven't had a chance to deal with the issue. It isn't a daily driver and I'm dealing with an illness in the family. It's not a priority at the moment.

Keep in mind there are a few levels / packages out there and you may or may not have the active lane keeping assist package (I don't know what the package option code is, maybe someone else can post it). For example my CLS has options 22P-"Track Package" and 476 - "Automatic lane recognition". So basically mine will also knock the steering wheel when hitting the yellow line but it will NOT correct for you. Look up your VIN and see if you have the "Active Lane Assist". Again, someone else please post the option.

Cars
thank you but as state before mine has every single option offered

My CLS has every single option offered and it's not that it isn't there, it is that it goes INOP. My car even as a Designo package and listed for over 90k. It's not a matter of if I have it but why it isn't working correctly. I thank you for your response.

I talked to our local dealer about that screen and she said it doesn't do anything at all. It's not even in the owners manual anywhere. Just some weird useless screen.

Check data card https://www.datamb.com/ to confirm if you have code 476 lane keeping assist (no correction just vibration) or 238 active lane keeping assist (correction).
