OE Tuning for 2016 CLS400 ordered
Yes most definitely, I have a set of drag radials mounted on clk aluminum wheels in case traction is an issue. You are more than welcome to run them. They do have a test and tune on the jan 30th, in case u get the bug earlier...lol
Like the plate btw!!

Blaise and I wanted to see how much of a difference in my Stage 1 to his more enhanced setup. So we took her out on the highway. We did a couple of pulls. Clearly he is making more power. Even when he gave me the hit he easily came around me and kept pulling until we let off. My guess from my experience is he's making between 50 to 100hp more than my setup. I did notice one odd thing when I floored her she didnt respond right away with a downshift and go. I floored, she thought about it, then downshifted and went. I did think the mph would be higher, but it is what it is. If I can improve my 60 ft the mph would go up. One 1.9 or 2.0 and I might be in the 12's. Regardless the times look very close to stock CLS550 per the below link. I will be going back in hopes of a 12 second pass.

same here, Hunters creek, and def trying to hit the track before the tune just to see stock vs tune numbers . Seems like a few guys in the central Florida area, we should get together sometime to hit the track. I can’t wait to get my tune just don’t know who I’m going to go with. Great thread and happy to see you enjoying the tune from oe.

Definitely a lot of fun. I wasn't doing well either, i believe the density altitude was very poor as well. These rwd are a pain to launch! I ran 12.6,12.7 and almost hit the wall in dyno mode due to wheelspin..

You guys should go...better on the track instead of street. Plus we can roll up 4 cls's deep...lol

Vince99frc,
I'm about to seal the deal on a CLS400 just like yours (even same color) and was wondering about the tune itself - does it require a higher tier gas? i live in Cali and we have usually 87/89/91 octane gas. I see someone mentioned 93 octane in the thread. is it required for the tune?

Anyone knows what would happen if I use 100 octane tune with the 93 octane gas?
That would make sense. I will contact OE tuning and talk to them.
About the octane level - yup, we have only 91 in Cali. There probably are gas stations somewhere here that will have higher tier gas, but probably is so rare it doesn't worth even mentioning it. On the other hand I've heard that Cali has a bit higher quality of the gas itself 🤷🏻♂️ how much of that is true - no clue...
Also about running 100 octane on a 93 ECU - nothing bad will happen immediately from what I know,l. You might have some gains in power but you increase the knocking chances of the engine, which is pretty bad. And it might wear and tear faster some internal parts of the engine not made to run on such hight octane gas. For a short term period you'll be fine, but I wouldn't use it often or continuously.
If you're talking about 100 octane tune on a 93 tier gas - that probably is just a waste of money, since you most likely will have loss in power and the engine might throw a few error codes at you
I'm not a specialist on that but had a chance to talk with some.Regards,
Ghostty

However, I would like to be able to take it back to stock when I go to the dealership.
