OE Tuning for 2016 CLS400 ordered

Hello Fellow CLS owners. I struggled between CLS400 and 550 and secondary to my last two vehicles killing me on fuel going to and from work I chose the CLS400. I have owned the car for just over a month. I can honestly say it is awesome not to have to fill up twice a week. This CLS400 really sips fuel. I pinged OE to ask about their tuning and they told me the sale was still on and end's today. Stock the car feels peppy, but I want to smile from time to time along with getting good fuel mileage when I am not on it. I am not going to lie I was worried about the purchase secondary to not finding a lot of CLS400 owners on here with OE tuning. Actually not many reports having a tune as opposed to some of the other forums on MB World. If you have an OE tune on your CLS400 or know of someone please share.

Does the car have any other modifications? And did you get a burble tune with OE? If so, could you upload a video of how the exhaust sounds w/ the burble? I too have the same model, but want to hear what a burble tune would sound like because the exhaust is stupid quiet lol.

Oe is extremely quick, they'll set everything up within a couple of hours! Did you get the burble tune if you don't mind me asking?

I really don't know what the burble tune is. I didn't ask for.

OK I did some quick research and it seem's it is just for sound and no real performance value. That does not sound like something I am interested in. I just want increased performance. It's a big car and hoping not to regret not getting the V8.

Yes it's pure sound, only for the pops and bangs! But with the tune I think the car makes close to what a stock CLS550 makes, so I think you'll be good!

Dyno tuned CLS400

I have a Dyno tuned 2015 CLS400 (4matic) with a catback F.I. Exhaust system. Right now I believe she is running at 430whp. I also added the burble tune which I love. Thinking about getting the Renntech blow off valve adapters but what I really want is some down pipes.

Did you mean 430fwhp? 430whp is like 500hp. That's a lot on pump gas. I put the tune on tonight and only took her for a quick spin. I dont have the AWD you have. Must be nice!!! However, I did notice smoother acceleration and shifts. I cant say how much of a gain via my butt meter since I never went over 70mph in a short sprint, but she feels good. I got rid of a 430whp Pontiac G8 GT I was playing around with for 3 years and she ran 11.9@118 mph on drag radials. I currently own a MK4 Supra and sold my old twin turbo C5. So my butt meter is ruined. I purchased the tune so the car can get out of her own way due to it's heavier than my old G8 GT. It would be nice to have a boost gauge. I am really curious.

Ok I drove the CLS this morning to take my son to school. You can for sure feel the tq is higher than stock. Part throttle get's up to speed pretty quick. Because there is no sound I cant really compare it to a V8, but if the speedometer moving pretty quick means anything I am making a lot more power than before. Even my son noticed via his comment "Daddy what's the rush?" Due to traffic I couldn't really open her up, but coming off from the light even in "E" got me out pretty quick. I would love to compare her to a local CLS550 if I can find one. I have to admit the reason I purchased this car is because I dont see many of them on the road. Ton's of C's, E's and S's, but not many CLS versions roaming around Hillsborough and Polk County. I cant wait for my wife to drive the CLS. She has a lead foot. She will notice right off the bat. Thanks OE for the great 93 octane tune. Very happy with the purchase.

Hey vince Im in hillsborough county as well. I am AMR RV3.1 tuned, downpipes, intake and amg mufflers... i've yet to dyno tho. Stock I ran 13.7 1/4, my AMR stage 1 tune ran 12.9-13.0 @109 And now its 12.3 @ 115 I am rear wheel drive as well. The car will not launch due to the torque limiters in the trans, I am currently leaving the line off idle. Anything over that car pulls timing but around 3rd gear it pulls very hard. I even tried drag radials with no success. I know if i can boost off the line those 11 sec time slips are there. I am searching for someone to remove limiters from trans and i have a few leads I'm working on. Kleeman can do it but they want $4000 and 3 weeks, lol.

Someone close to me!!! Awesome!! I didn't know there was an intake for our cars. I thought we only could change the filter. Low 12's out of a CLS400 is very impressive. When we both have some free time we should meet up. I would love to go to Bradenton Motorsports to run our cars.

I just reread you comments on tq limiters in the trans. Is this the same for the CLS550 and 63? I would think this would limit them as well. Maybe they just pull that much harder in 3rd to make up for the limiters. We have the 7 speed just like the CLS63 of the same year. I think the CLS550 rec'd the 9 speed. So we need more boost from 3rd on.

Its true for a lot of different models, there are numerous threads throughout the forum. Being rwd doesn't help to much either. I have been reaching out to a few people through leads I've acquired... just waiting for feedback. The cls63 has the 7spd speed shift trans and no torque convertor, we have 7 speed plus with convertor.

Mine came with the manual shift. Please let me know when you plan on your next track trip. I would like to go as well. Looks like Feb 8th is the next Street Heat.
