Eurocharged Tune Update
Maybe I missed something because I recall seeing 420hp, Canada's (V4?) as 460hp, and now it has been updated to:
.
480HP/528ft-lbs
.
Anyone running this latest version? Or has this been out for a while? Thoughts?

Hey,
I spoke to Jerry from Eurocharged Houston about this and he can get me the stage 1 tune that will produce 460-480HP and 520-530 pound feet of torque, but I have to pay a $150 USD reflash fee. I thought I could be forwarded to Eurocharged Canada for free or a small fee, but they were asking for like $1800 CAD, so I was like no lol. I haven't paid the reflash fee yet (because of MBhouse taking a long time for my ECU update). I also noticed on Eurocharged.com, that the C400/E400 #'s used to be around 400HP/432lb/ft. These numbers have now been updated to 480HP/528 pound feet, but the CLS400 still has the wrong numbers (says stock it makes like 500 torque).
I've looked around some threads and the 400/450/C43's all have the same turbos in size, but the 450/43's have a different shape or angle to them. The E43's on the other hand have larger turbos. Many people who get their C400/E400's tuned from EC Canada, get the same tune (the same horsepower/torque #'s) as the 450/43 models. If anything, it's best to just DM people on Instagram who get tunes for their 400 engines from EC Canada, as it's hard even on this forum to find many people with a 400 engine tuned.
Therefore, if you haven't gone with a tuner yet, I would ask both EC Houston and EC Canada for their best prices, and go with the cheaper one. I'm not sure if EC Canada does the handheld. Once I get the new tune file, I should easily be able to tell the difference in power as it will be a significant upgrade +50HP +70 TQ (crank). I've had this stage 1 tune for almost a year and it doesn't feel that much fun anymore because I'm so used to it. I remember when I first got the stage 1 tune, I was blown away and my legs were like NUMB because I was launched back into my seat; I was actually shook. Hope to get that feeling back very soon.

Yeah I was thinking it was going to be routed to Canada for more gains until I saw this.
This is very interesting because with stage 1 tunes you're looking at:
CLS400: 480hp/524tq
CLS550: 480hp/606tq
That's very close, for a 4.7TT V8 vs 3.0TT V6...

Obviously, 200tq will make a difference on the most aggressive tune, but I'd be curious by *how much*

Very nice! With the updated tune probably would see 4.6 I'd imagine.
Either way, the 400 is clearly no slouch!

I'd expect around 4.2 (I hope!) because it would be +50hp and +70tq. Kind of disappointed in 4.8, I thought it was 4.5-4.6. But then again, that's only one launch.

It is possibly a mistake on the website. For my 550, it had listed at ~535hp and 610tq for Stage 1, and Stage 2 was 585hp and 690tq. I haven't run the car on the dyno to confirm the numbers yet.

Likely, as those numbers sound more accurate for stage 1.
Either way, stage 1 to stage 1, that's maybe only a 55hp difference, ~80tq...
So either there's something limiting about the 4.7TT (which would *only* be the turbos, IF they are limiting), or the tuners haven't bothered to explore it more.
Its possible to argue the C43 would likely have more tuning interest just because it's considered an "AMG" model as well.

It's possible that it is the turbos, but as I was told, by tuners + car owners, that it is mostly due to restrictive cats and they increase the turbo boost a bit more on Stage 2 since there are no more cats. I was hoping to do more mods and try to reach 600whp lol but things are getting much expensive after Stage 2 upgrade and Idk if I can keep up with them lol. The turbo upgrade is going to cost ~5-6k. Welp. lol
But what one person told me that the tuners can make the tune a bit more "aggressive" and churn out a few more ponies than their listed tune on the site. I totally forgot to ask that, and if I ask that now, the re-flash is going to cost $150.

As for the 0-60 test I did yesterday, I'm sure I coulda gotten 4.5-4.6 if I had no passenger and on like 3 attempts to find the perfect launch . Speaking of the re-flash fee, I paid mine yesterday to get the 480HP/528TQ tune. Didn't get the file today, so I'm guessing tomorrow or at the latest Friday.

True, but then you can put downpipes on both; once again the v8 might have a slight edge for more breathability, but it's still not crazy far off. Personally, I'm not too much of a fan of downpipes, it's not worth the extra 30hp for me. I also assume you mean the m157 5.5 turbo upgrade rather than weistec or whatever, yes?
And yes, I was talking about installing 157 turbos on 278. It's quite expensive, for me. Maybe someday in the future, I might think about it. My goal was to get around 600whp. Right now, I'm thinking about the E85 FlexFuel tune. I need to contact EC about their tune and see what's the best route with the FlexFuel tune. Bc they claim that there's no need to change any parts and it's just a tune. I called them earlier today and believe EC is closed. So I will try to get some clarification on their Flex Fuel tune next week.
Also, I checked their website, and these are the current claims:
Stage 1: 480hp 606tq
Stage 2: 540hp 715tq
What I was told when I got my tune:
Stage 1: 535hp 610tq
Stage 2: 585hp 690-700tq.
That's about a 45hp difference and I want answers lol

I got the new tune file that is 480HP/528TQ, and my commute was short today, so on the way back when things were warmed up, I put it into sport, and it just PULLED. You get pushed back into your seat more and the numbers on the speedometer climb a lot faster . I was only able to step on it twice, so I haven't even gotta an entire feel for it, but I'm pretty impressed. One thing that sucks is that I requested a separate burble tune file as the second file, but I got one file with the burble. I have to pay another $150 USD to get the tune without the burbles. A lot of people don't have issues with burbles w cats but I like to play it safe and I don't want any issues really. Might just put it on for the summer. I'm pretty sure that as long as I don't let it backfire then it can do absolutely 0 damage to the cats anyway, as when you drive normally whether that be in E or S, it doesn't backfire unless you're specifically looking for it to do that, or if you're in manual.
On a side note, I hooked my main battery up to a battery charger (12V 8A) for about 5 hours last night, and for my 12km commute, it was working at about 80 degrees C on the coolant scale. Normally I would have to drive the car for at least 15 minutes for the battery to charge up and for the function to work.

Alpha lists 585hp for stage one on the 550. in general I think a stage 1 gets you near the next level, and stage 2 a bit more.
that being said, C&D tested the CLS 550 stock at 4.2s to 60. Pretty sure with dyno mode on. and the CLS AMG S was really fast at 3.1s /11.5

@Adi-Benz What I believe now is that the 480hp EC listed on their website might be their wheel horsepower numbers. Since they can't really calculate hp at the crank and they used to round it to the crank numbers by accounting 10-15% loss. 480whp calls for roughly 570hp to the crank (15%). I was quoted ~585hp at the crank. So the new numbers could be their WHP from Stage 1 and Stage 2.

On the 550? Who'd you go with and howd it go?
