Unknown Fault Code

Sorry, what I was going to ask is about the device, did it give any more details about the code? It looks a decent device to give just an fault code number without a brief description.
Also, did you try erasing it and see if it will appear again? Is it a stored fault code or active?

The "check engine" light had come on and stayed on for a couple of days. Then it went away without anything done. Shortly after that, the scan was done and nothing was found...only that "Unknown Fault Code". No other information was given...no other errors, no more check engine light...nothing. Just wondering what could have caused both of those. All of these events occurred in less than 10 days.

Unless it comes up again, a long list of reasons can trigger check engine light. I had same thing happening to myself, cleared the codes - been over a week - didn't come back again.
So overall i'd say just forget about it, since it didn't come back or no details available. An electric told me that the car can have fault codes without the CEL on, and drive just fine. I'd suggest to check later, next week or so, for codes again, and if none found - forget about it.
