Stage 2 Help

I have a 2012 cls550 and looking to upgrade from my OETuning stage 1. I really don't want to dump $3k+ (CAD) on an aftermarket downpipe, so I was thinking of just cutting the cat's and straight piping them, upgrade to stage 2 and getting NGK spark plugs.

Looking for opinions on this !!

Note: Vehicle has 170,000km

That's exactly what I did with my previous cls, DPs for this car are incredibly expensive for no reason, so I just cut the cats out and welded pipes in.

The other way is, you can bash the catalytic material out, to essentially make it catless, without having to cut it.

Had I known we could do that before I cut the cats out, I probably would have done that instead lmao.

thanks for the reply. Do you remember what spark plugs you went with?

Stock plugs, wasn't advised to replace plugs as the cat was only at 30K miles

You can always go colder, but stock ones just fine.

Probably. But, I am doing this for a stage 2 tune. Unfortunately I need my primary cats gone as well so i think i need to invest into some proper pipes.
