Hey guys and gals...new member here, many questions...
First off Im a current owner of a 2002 M3 coupe..to say the least the car was fun for the 2 years ive had it, but I've grown tired of the rough ride as well as crappy BMW service, not to mention the hideous styling of the newer models...So Ive decided on the CLS 500, but have so many questions..
1) regarding the AMG package...are the wheels in the option 18 or 19"? and the rear diffuser on the AMG, will it fit an aftermarket quad tip muffler?
2) regarding the interior...im currently considering the sunset red...i love red interiors...but is it too much red? or is there some 2-toned black involved in it...and finally, trim..not a big fan of wood trim, are there any aftermarket aluminum trims available that fit well? TIA

1) CLS500 AMG option comes with 18". CLS55 comes standard 19". Yes, the rear diffuser will fit 55 quad exhaust. Check this out: https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...=104959&page=1
2) Regarding the wood kit, Brabus and Carlsson will have carbon fiber kit available soon. About $4K+ parts and I heard it will take long time to install it. No aluminum kit that I heard of but since CLS still new I think someone will introduce it soon or later.

thx hlkc....so the amg package one the cls 500 has the e55 rims? and the cls55 has a different set entirely...and if that amg diffuser fits a quad exhaust, doesnt it look funny with only the duel tips? wont there be a big gap?
and 4000 for trim..i think i could learn to like wood

I believe the offset is different. CLS500 uses low offset wheels like SL R129. But they look excatly the same. Yes, 55 has a different set entirely. I think the 500 has wider single tip on each side with little gap and 55 has little smaller dual tips in each side and tight fit.
I agree with you. Brabus told me it will cost $5K/parts and $1K/installation, I almost fell out from the chair. Actually the laurel (shiny) wood I got is kind of dark wood and I like it so far.

ParSC23, if anyone can pull off wood in a cabin, it's definitely Mercedes. Get the dark woods -- they look better than carbon-fibre anyway imho: more "characterful" because they aren't so "tidy". titanium wld really b great though -- interested in one of the 55 IWC CLSs?

Welcome aboard. If you are not a wood fan, skip the Matte Walnut. Imho in the next year or so there will be more aftermarket trim kits out there at less $.Just a personal preference here but growing tired of the CF look in some vehicles.
