I have the iPod kit; just bought it
Just bought the iPod kit and have it here in front of me; part number B67824201. I am still waiting on the mounting bracket: part number B67824207.

I used the part numbers and called the my local dealership today. They advised me that the part number was the ipod kit on the M class and that it would not work on the CLS. Has anyone had the kit installed yet? Thanks

My CLS55 is sitting in the dealer now overnite. i am the first iPod kit insatlled in the city. They have my car apart and they are still putting it 2gether. I am kinda pissed. They are new at it and they try to stiff me for 4 hours labour. I went ape**** and tell them that i am not paying for more than 2 hours and all that ranting worked. Also got a courtest C class for overnite use.
Let this be a warning, if you are doing this, make sure they do not stiff you for the labor cost-you should not be paying for their inexperience.

I still can't figure out the "docking station"...it is nothing stationary, nothing that you can mount in the glove compartment...you just have to throw it in there.

They just released a "tray" that you can put it in. It is a blow molded plastic part, covered with the black flocking that the rest of the glovebox has. And it's clever how either style of ipod will fit in it.
I've been meaning to post pics of it, but that pesky work has been getting in the way!
Also, it's $16 retail, not too bad.

This is it. As I said previously, it's a clever part but it just "hangs" out there. It's not designed to attach to anything inside the glovebox. I was expecting a more elaborate setup for the iPod.

Airbus
?
Thanks for the info. Have been impatiently waiting for the kit.
Just hit 1000 miles Time to make an appointment at the dealer and check this kit out.
What labor times are they quoting for the install? 2-4Hrs seems outrageous.
When you hit the Audio button on Comand, does the iPod option show up on the screen to select with the softkey or does it just overide the Radio/CD/CD Changer? (Can you still select between the different Audio functions with it plugged in)
Thanks Mike

This picture is obviously not from a CLS though. The cradle does not fit well within the irregularly shaped CLS glove compartment...

Well as an update I thought I would be posting pictures today. However after dropping my car off yesterday morning for the installation I was advised that they have not finished it and "should" be finsihed today.
For those who have had installation done how many hours of install time did you pay for?
