About three months after delivery two tires were replaced as the result of road force balancing upon noticing slight vibration over 50 mph (free balancing entitlement for the first 12 months/12000miles). That’s it @ one year/14000 miles.

CLS 320 CDI - Dino Ferrari 246 gt - Ferrari TestaRossa
Hi all. On my new oct 2006 CLS 320 CDI (i'm in love with it, it's Captain Kirk's car) I notice
1 - some aerodinamic noise at medium speed
2 - a strong road noise probably due to tires and rims but above all :
3- air conditioning sometimes stinks when the car stays in box for only 24 hours
4 - in my Euro Comand the spelling in Italian is toxic. Some phrases are the exact translation of English (it often isn't applicable) and result without meaning. Every command is announced and preceded by 'prego' (bitte in German and please in English) . After the first days it becomes tiring out.

My 2000 Km represent just a little number to have reliability problems...
Ciao

Mine has 9500 miles and have zero problem including minor ones. Very happy with it. Totally much better than my 2007 GL which I sold after only 6 months.

Had my CLS 500 for only one year.

In the first month the steering wheel sensors gave out. It was repaired under warranty. Other than that it only went into service for maintenance.

No problems with my car & it's 14month old & 15000mls on clock , the only small problem I had was yesterday when the centre holder [pop up storage area ]between the gear lever & phone holder, would not open & I had to smash it to get open. Can imagine it will be almost centre console out to renew cubby hole.

I would not really consider any of these as reliability issues.

I have had lot of issue and I want to drive the car through the show room window.

Replaced the Airmatic pump (?)
replaced the rear left strut (stuck extended)
replace the front brakes (squeaking)
replaced all 4 tires (capped?)
Replaced the rear brake light (blown)
replaced the interior visor light (blown)
Front Passenger Speaker (poping)

So I am just fed up with this car and 2 days ago the dam restrain light came on and it told me to go to the workshop soon. So I guess I can add that to the list as well.

It seems in reading these last few posts, you either get a good Mercedes or a bad one. That isn't good, its a big gamble. This is the very meaning of quality control. The CLS shouldn't be having these issues considering most its guts aren't "new". Sigh.

How many miles on your car? Is this a CLS500 or CLS550 or AMG model?

Its a CLS500, and it has 12K. This past weekend I went to test drive a 550i, I just have a bad taste in my mouth from my first MB experience. If I have any other issue with in the next few months I will definitely get rid of the CLS and get the 550i. I will probably not buy another benz.

The funny part is I called MB USA and they really didnt do anything except call the dealer to have them look at the problem again. After they looked at it they still couldnt remedy the suspension/ handling issues.

after 1000 miles, i had to get the battery replaced coz mine was faulty.
transmission sometimes messes up when it downshifts "not using tiptronic". the car feels like it pushes forward for some reason. i think the car changed into the wrong gear or something like that.
leather quality sucks crap. im doing some custom interior work, so i guess its ok.
my exhuast looks weird coz one side looks lower than the other.

I don't think you have ever owned a bmw before... at least not one in the last two body cycles. One thing is for certain, you can count on having as many problems as you have had with a bimmer. And the service is worse.... don't get me started. Hopefully you can get your car fixed and you will be fine, or maybe you have one of the very first ones and you should get out of it and get another one....
