2007 CLS550
Problems with Sat radio reception?
I have a CLS550 and have noticed that I lose the signal for my sat radio quite often. In my mind, it is acceptable to lose reception in underground garages, when surrounded by highrise buildings, etc... It is not acceptable to lose reception when surrounded by nothing but blue sky. Is anyone else having this problem? I took it to the dealership and they said this is normal.

The Sat radio reception on my 06 CLS is horrible! Just sitting in my garage i get no signal. NEVER AGAIN! The factory XM in my other car gets reception underground with very few dropouts.

When i'm in the open i never have problems with the XM SAT but as soon as i roll into the garage.. nothing.. searching searching searching.

Having had cars with both XM and Sirius, I can definitely point to XM as having much better reception... but Sirius has better programming. Maybe when they finally merge we'll get the best of each.

CLS 500 Granite Grey
Sat Reception
I have a CLS 500 and have experienced the same problem since purchasing the car. About once a day, it looses reception without any visible obstruction. I also have an after market satelite radio in another car and never experience this problem.

XM vs. Sirrus
I have the same problem with CLS 550. I have XM in my jeep and can get reception in a concrete parking garage. I actually think the programming on XM is better. I don't listen to Howard Stern.

Sucks
There service is horrible, I noticed the same thing, dropped signal with clear shot to the sky. I also noticed that sometimes changing the channel and picking up a different satelite, the signal in the same location is perfect.
I guarantee the credit card charge works just fine.

2006 CLS500 w/ AMG
CLS500, Sirius = GARBAGE! I'm in the trenches takin grenades with this thing. I drive under an overpass while on the highway and it cuts out. XM is so much better.
