2012 CLS lease

Hi I am new here and I would like to get some feedback on what you think the new CLS will lease for. My CLS550 lease is ending end of this month and I was just thinking of extending it until the new one arrives. My only concern is it won't lease as well as my current because its a new car. I think it will lease around 1200.00 per month? If I am going to spend that kind of money I can get an E63 for a little bit more. Would appreciate your feedback.

Regards,

Vivek

My suspicion is December '11 would be the best lease this year for the '12.

I'm curious to know what they'll be Leasing for as well. What were the current ones Leasing for a couple of years ago (before they started getting the "about to have a new body out blowout sale" prices)?

MB is having their standard lease rate on this car, I was told its $999 plus down. They will start offering better lease rates in few months.

I see the $699 lease on the '11's no longer on MBUSA.com.
cars.com lists less than 30 '11's and 30 '12's nationwide

Ouch, $999 with down isn't worth it to me. I wonder if this car will see potential for $6xx with down, within the next couple of years (unlike the previous model that had that deal in its last production year).

Anyone know what is a realistic deal? First time leasing, and completely sure on things.

First of all, putting money down on a lease is not wise. Always lease with as little down as possible or nothing at all.

This is the July number for CLS lease

2012 Mercedes CLS550
24 month | 15k miles | residual 64% | .00240 money factor
36 month | 15k miles | residual 55% | .00240 money factor
48 month | 15k miles | residual 49% | .00240 money factor
60 month | 15k miles | residual 41% | .00240 money factor

2012 Mercedes CLS63
24 month | 15k miles | residual 58% | .00240 money factor
36 month | 15k miles | residual 50% | .00240 money factor
48 month | 15k miles | residual 44% | .00240 money factor
60 month | 15k miles | residual 39% | .00240 money factor

So if you want a CLS550 with MSRP at 80K. Assuming that you pay MSRP and roll the acquisition fee into the lease, you are looking at a depreciation of about 1019 a month and Rent of about 299 a month for a grand total of 1318 a month for 36 months 15k miles lease. That is not including tax which is different in different state. In Kalifornia, we are paying 9+% rate and the monthly payment is going to be in the 1400 range...

CLS is a new car and Mercedes is not subsidising it right now. And you can adjust the monthly payment base on the sales price that you negotiate.. Some area is going to be better than the other for price negotiation.. I can see myself paying about $1000 a month for a loaded CLS550 but not $1400+, so I will wait and see if MB will have a better deal come December..
