I picked up a CLS550 launch edition yesterday . I love it so far! After getting a C63 when my CLS55 lease was up a few years back I have been itching to get another CLS. The interior is definitely far superior to the last generation CLS (and even more so compared to my C63). It rides great as well. I do miss the exhaust note of my C63 though, so something will have to get done about that . My only complaint is that the send2benz and remote unlock/lock on the mbrace iPhone application apparently don't work with this car. Tom Metz from Mercedes-Benz of Escondido was a big help and I'd highly reccomend him.

Regarding "remote unlock/lock on the mbrace iPhone application apparently don't work with this car" perhaps you signed up for the free 6 months trial of the basic mbrace when you bought the car. I was told that these Apps dont work with the basic mbrace and you have to instead sign up for the free 3 month mbrace Plus to get the App functionality. This was for a '12 CLS550 as well. Perhaps this is the problem?

Yep I traded in my C63. While I really did enjoy the performance and handling of my C63, the interior was really wearing on me and I just wanted something different. My supercharged Challenger SRT8 is now my speed demon . The steering is very precise and responsive, much more tight than my S550. The steering is definitely one of the best out of the MBs I have owned. Personally, I would rate the C63 steering as somewhat better than the CLS550, though I haven't driven the CLS through too many curvy roads yet.



Thank you! Hm, that could be it as I did get the trial when I was at the dealer, but I signed up for mbrace Plus shortly before I tried the mbrace app yesterday. I just tried the app again and it still say it doesnt work with my navigation system. Perhaps my car didn't come with the latest version? Also, if your CLS550 has the backup camera, does it have the guidelines on your backup camera? I remember test driving an S550 a while back and that the OEM backup camera had guidelines to help you backing up. Mine doesn't seem to have this.

MercPlease, No guidelines on the screen for the backup camera either. Seem to be on the larger MB vehicles. Have them on the GL but not an E-coupe nor the CLS550.

I just picked up a CLS550 LE and got the same error with the mBrace app. I called mBrace in the car and explained the problem. They changed a setting in my account and the app works fine now.

Great car. Nice mix of luxury and speed.

I see there's no mBrace app for Android.

Do you need a subscription for the mBrace app to work? (remote un/lock, etc)

I believe the exterior is steel grey. Looks the same as the launch edition that I first drove and it was steel grey. I think this color scheme is unique to the launch edition and is not a regular CLS color combo, but not sure.

Here's another launch edition with multiple pictures at the dealer. As mentioned the exterior is steel grey with porcelain and black two tone interior. Also has unique design and darker colored wheels. Virtually all available options together in a single launch package of about $12K.

Yep it is Steel Grey. To my knowledge it is unique to the launch edition as I didn't see either Steel Grey paint or the Porcelain leather on MBUSA.

If I remember correctly I had to enter my mBrace account # and pin in order to login the app so I believe so.

Do you have your adaptive high beam assist on? Mine is however, I haven't been anywhere that is super dark to have it kick it.

I've used it before and it worked well. It sensed an oncoming car from a pretty far distance, I was expecting the car to be closer in order for it to be recognized. I'm not sure of the specific distance but it was at least 500 feet (this was on a straight road).
