X-PIPE for 2006 cls 500

Really in need of knowing what exact X-pipe will fit onto this car

I already have quad brabus mufflers. I need a x-pipe or a downpipe to connect
it with. Please help, thanks!

None that I know will fit, you can order a universal x pipe , tons of company's make it all are the same. American thunder make a nice one. Bring to a exhaust shop they can fit it in, and it will look factory.
Fyi :Will not make any hp difference, only sound a little smoother.

Is our exhaust stainless? What diameter?

I am on the Magnaflow website and they have a stainless x pipe in 2.25, 2.5 and 3. Parts 16403, 16404, 16405.

Interesting...still on Magnaflow website and the TruX Crossover looks to be more applicable. Parts 10790, 10791 and 10792.

Who has a pic of their exhaust with rough measurements between the pipes?

Anyone with a CLS550 that knows details about the OEM exhaust? I am trying to figure out which Magnaflow pipe to buy above.

Thanks, Checkout those Magnaflow part numbers above. They make two kind of types of x pipes. One has a wide spread and the other close. Which one do you think will work?

I got my 07 CLS550 today. I dropped it off at the bodyshop to touch up a lower front bumper marks. I wish I could get a view underneath it of the exhaust.

This is good info. I cut out the resonator and, while it sounds better, it has a little bit of a putter sound to it. I think if I added an x-pipe, it would even it out. Sounds good when you put your foot in it, but it's not quite enough for me. Does anyone know about mufflers? I need to know if there are any offsets (inlet/outlet, right/left) for an '06 CLS500? I'm looking for a little more rumble. Thanks!!

I removed resonator and replaced with x-pipe on my 07cls550 and can barely tell a difference. Next step is to replace x-pipe with straight pipes and remove secondary cats and put the x-pipe there.
If this doesn't get it loud enough, a Meisterschaft system will be on order. Just trying all my options before I drop 3K.

(I wish they made headers for the cls550)

Oh yeah- the very first thing I did was a muffler delete and it sounded bad-a$$, but the drone was a bit much in the cabin.

I hear that. Mine sounds great when it fires up, but it's not sustained. I'm looking at putting either some Magnaflows or Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flows on and see how that works out. I've had the FM on other cars of mine and like the sound it gave. Throaty, but not so much like a muscle car. There's a few videos on YouTube.

I'm with Lakehouse although I am fortunate enough to live near him so he can test this first and i can hear it.

From what I have read only,
- Off the engine the pipes run into the primary cats
- Then into the secondary cats/resonators(some refer to them as secondary cats but i am not sure if they really are)
- Then into the large resonator in the center
- Then to mufflers and out

Many remove the large resonator and replace with x pipe or straight pipes. However, I read that you should remove those cats/resonators right in front of the large resonator and put the xpipe there. Supposedly the further up the x pipe the better. The further back towards the mufflers and the sound changes dramatically.

Since Lakehouse already has the large resonator out and the x pipe there, all he needs to do is cut out the others, move his x pipe up, run straight pipe out after that to mufflers.

Cannot wait to hear it when he is done.
