just picked up a 06 cls55 amg give me the rundown
Alright so picked up a 06 cls55 52000 miles, capri blue, java leather, paid $31000 out the door.Clean carfax, seems to have had some service done up to 33k , water pump, front and rear shocks replaced at around 20k in 08, 26k fuel sending unit, replaced, alignment at dealer, ecu reprogram, , at 42k four wheel alignment, steering suspensions checked at a mom n pop shop.
alright first impressions of car..... wow... what a rocket.... been driving bmws for 20 years and its my first merc... drove a e60 m5 before this 55 and i cant believe how much more car the 55 is.
Anyways back to my questions. getting a service E 185 days passed service notification, wondering what this entitles.
front pads have been done, already thank god, rears are at about 25%.
Need a navigation DVD whats the cheapest solution? is there a download i can burn to dvd or a copy i can buy online? also any firmware updates for the vehicle?
car has no hids so i want to add them, they are h7 bulbs correct? what are the fog lights bbulbs?
been reading that the trans fluid should be changed at 39k i dont know if its been done and know its a pita to do but am very mechanically inclined, and would like to do as much work to the car as i can. is there any diy write ups on fluid changes, things to check, etc?
is there a drop in K&N filter for this car? basically any tips you guys can give me on my new purchase would be great, my first car that ive spent this much money on and would love to keep it reliable.

as far as the navi disk .. you cant burn a copy (tried that route ) just hop on EBAY for the best deal ! Seriously i got an 2010 version for 60$ and it does the job . Trans fluid SHOULD be done every 40K or so..

ya from auto matic......... wasnt my main choice of place to buy a vehicle from but got it down to $29000. Hopefully car is good to me.
bought some hids already, drop in k&ns, vers 7 navi dvd,
gonna look into e service, belt looks original , want to get that done, pretty sure diff and trans fluid never been done either.

buy the belts your self, get the trans and diff done then save some coin for the plugs, coolant, and brake flush ! after that drive it like it stole it and enjoy it ! My baby has 145k on her and i drive it like an indy car lol

the plugs, coolant and brake flush is that something i can do or recommended by dealer? im waiting for my friend to get back to work ( benz dealer) and see if she can pull the records with the vin # and get me some pricing on fluid changes. whats the best bang for the buck place to buy belts? thanks for the reply whyask

Not necessarily true. I downloaded ISOs for both the 2010 & 2012 NavTeqs - burned them and ran them without problem for months. I bought the 2013 off ebay (like you recommended) for $65 because I couldn't find a 2013 source.
