Any new word
Anyone heard anything new or seen one of these things in the US other than at a car show? I've been waiting for this thing for a while and want to see/drive it before I actually put the order in. I've heard that the 450 is pretty quick from what I am told. Trying to decide if the 53 is necessary.

Well damn guys, we are up to near the end of October and the configurator on the MB website is still showing the previous CLS coupe. Has anyone heard of any of them arriving at dealerships or anything now that the EPA thing is over? At least my dealership is telling me it is.

I did find that they likewise approved the CLS 53 AMG:

Just got a call from my dealer. There are two 450’s that they just received today at Newport Beach. I’m going to get over there tomorrow to check them out. I’ll post pictures once I’m back

Here it is guys! Man, no pictures I’ve seen of this car yet really do it justice. Seeing it in person is completely different. For me this is probably the sharpest 4 door car on the market today. I drove this one yesterday and while it is only a 450, I must say I was very impressed. The engine had a nice rumble, it accelerates extremely smooth in sports plus mode. It also corners and handles like my Porsche. Now I’ve owned/driven some very incredible vehicles and I am constantly researching all new worthwhile products coming out from automakers. However, this one really surprised me. It really exceeded my expectation. I plan on ordering a 53 shortly. If you’re on the fence I suggest going to check one out when you can.

Beautiful car - thanks for posting the pics. I plan on visiting my dealer soon for a test drive. I will be looking to see how the performance compares to the outgoing CLS 550. I don’t plan on ordering until I test drive the 53

awesome pics - how do you feel about the bumper additions to the rear for US regulatory compliance?

Congrats on your incoming new car! My dealer has one CLS 53 coming in but I am sure it is already spoken for. I think the rear bumper addition is unfortunate but I have gotten used to it. What do you guys think of the standard LED lights? I am not a fan and I am surprised Mercedes didn't make the intelligent lights standard. Just another option box to check...

Finally and MBUSA still has the 2018 up for build! Something needs to change there. That said, it's gorgeous. I guess I'll go have a look now.

Wow! That’s awesome. How long ago did you put the order in? I’m being told it will take around 3 months or so. Make sure to give us a review on the performance once you get in. Really interested to see what a real person thinks of it. As for the LED’s, I think the standard ones look really suiting for this car. Perhaps on the 53 the upgraded LED’s would be nice to further separate it from the 450.

I’m Honestly I didn’t know about the bumper addition until you mentioned it. I’m assuming it’s the mold around the license plate right? It does look slightly odd if you solely look at that one spot I suppose.
