Weistec GT-S Build
....Well that didn't take too long did it?
As most of you know I took delivery of my GT-S Edition 1 last week. As with all of my past AMG builds I am relying on the engineering expertise of the guys over at Weistec Engineering in Santa Ana, CA.
As some of you may or may not already know Weistec has had an M178 AMG GT motor in their R&D center for quite some time now. They are way ahead of the competition on development for this platform and have several parts ready to be bolted on to my car and tested out and several more things still in the development stages.
For the first stage of modifications they are installing their gorgeous stainless mandrel bent downpipe and midpipe, Weistec dry filters and exclusive Wesitec ECU tune. This will be a well documented build, proper baseline dyno numbers will be available for comparison to modified dyno figures.
Keep an eye on this thread or follow Weistec on Instagram #WEISTEC or on Facebook #WEISTEC ENGINEERING for build updates and build photos.
This car is very impressive in it's stock form, I can not wait to see what the guys at Weistec do to take it up a notch or two......Stay Tuned

When(if) the AMG GTS Black Edition comes out, will you be keeping this car, or getting the Black Edition and doing the same modifications?

I will be getting a GT Black Series but those are not supposed to be hitting the market for another four years. I will mod that one as well, I never keep anything stock.

Hope the build goes smooth as glass!
I remember the old days, and the struggles you faced getting the OG BS sorted, you deserve a cake walk on this one

Gents -
Excellent thread(s) going on about this car in general.
Does anyone know if the Renntech tuned GTS that went 11.28 was on drag radials or regular street tires?
Also anxious to see your updates, jrcart. I'm currently doing a bit of shopping and the new GTS is on my short list.
Best,
Jay
