Renting a AMG GT-S for 2 days....
So I will start by saying I an not a huge fan of the GT-S...I prefer the looks and power plant of the SLS but my wife likes it and we are looking to buy a car for us to enjoy on our weekend get away and this is one of 3 options.
Anybody in the San jose area know of any great roads to travel please let me know. I look forward to the experience of this car as I know it will be head and shoulders better than my W204 C63.

You're not a fan of the GTS but the SRT-4 does it for you 
Not really cool to insult an entire group of enthusiast then ask for help planning your vacation.

I did not insult anybody, I said I prefer the looks and power plant of the SLS. Am I not allowed to have an opinion now a days??

Have you driven the car? The SLS drives not remotely as well given its power plant and poorly tuned DCT... I do agree looks are subjective and your opinion is yours.
If you haven't driven it then the rental time is a good idea to get some of the placebo feel out of your system (negative or positive) Unfortunately I don't know any roads up North.

The Napa Valley has some good roads especially during this time of the year when it is not too busy. I especially enjoyed driving up and down Mt. Veeder Rd. The roads near Half Moon Bay are pretty fun as well.

I did not mean to come off in a negative way so I am sorry if it was taken that way..Yes I owned a lowly neon at one time and I enjoyed my time with it. Not up to the standards of many if not all of the owners on this forums I get it but with that said I do enjoy all cars and my subjective opinion was just that...my opinion
Vic I would like to pick you brain via PM seeing as you have owned all 3 cars I am looking to buy. To answer your question no I have not driven the car yet which is why I am renting it for my wife and I...I am sure it performs better than anything I currently own I just like the rawness of the M159 and to a lesser degree my tuned M156.

Well this sucks for us. I just got an email stating the GT-S has suffered some significant damage from a recent rental and will not be available this weekend. They offered a R8 spyder but my wife as well as myself are not into Verts at all. But that is besides the point. I will not be spending time behind the wheel of this car anytime soon. Pretty bummed.
