finally did it... deep breath. :)

bought a 2016 GT S today from Mercedes of Knoxville. ...by the way, they were *GREAT*. i had a wonderful experience with every single person i dealt with... i'd like to call out individual people, but i'm happy to share with anyone that would be interested.

i hadn't considered purchasing a pre-owned GT S but i think i got a killer deal. 359 miles on her. CPO car -- and i purchased the extra 2 years so that i sleep well at night. $129K. even.

i was going to order my *perfect* car and i found the one i purchased at MB of Knoxville. I would have ordered the aerodynamics package, but not the carbon ceramic breaks and *upgraded* Burmester audio system. the rest? every single option was on my list. now that i've owned it for almost 10 hours i have no regrets.

i look forward to betting to know the group... my wife drives a 2011 e63 sedan. my "daily driver" has been a 2015 e63 wagon (grew up in europe and love the wagons!). feeling blessed and excited at the same time!

omg congrats!!! such a cool purchase, and I hope it brings you years of smiles and laughs! you are literally what i aspire to be. as an 18 year old just having paid cash for my first certified pre-owned C-class, this is a huge motivator.

thank you. you remind me of my over-achieving son who is a state legislator in Georgia. at one point, he was the youngest state legislator in the country. his name is michael caldwell. when i was young? not sure i want to go here, but we had, uh, not much. it's been hard work -- a lot of it to get here. we're being feeling blessed (beyond belief) to being able to enjoy some privileges... so very thankful.

Congrats on the purchase. It is an amazing car that makes you feel special every time you get behind the wheel and that's the difference with all the other competitors in its price range (under $135K).
You can easily buy the aero kit parts and add them. Naperville MB dealer has a great online site and it's 25% off

I went to dealer and got the part numbers for the aero kit then you order them there
http://www.mboemparts.com/
I do not like the fixed spoiler in the back but it can be done as well. One owner on the FB AMG forum did it.

that is so cool. seriously? i would be super proud if i raised someone like that! haha I'm nowhere near as overachieving as your son, but i sure hope to become something someday. i really hope you enjoy the hell outta that car, and best of luck to you ))

Sorry for the multi-year delay! I just saw your question...

The MSRP was $157,475 + shipping. I've attached the 'build sheet'.

I was thinking the used market was completely stupid right now. Then I realized your post was from 2016. Ha!

She's awesome, honestly! Every once in a while I think "maybe it's time to sell her..." i take a shallow breath and that feeling passes. I just really enjoy this vehicle. I have others, but this one is a 'go to'.

I have no idea what a 2016 AMG GTS is worth -- with my specs -- with 13K miles. But it honestly doesn't matter. The feeling I get by sitting down, starting it up, hitting the button for the sport exhaust, hitting the button to disable the auto-start-at-stop (whatever that's called) is worth keeping her. the car is 5 years old and still puts a smile on my face. I also have a 2014 bentley continental GT. VERY different cars... and i love them both.

Carmax wants $97k for a 8k mile 2016 GT S. They are usually above market, so I'd guess low $90k's?

yeah, i would have no interest in selling this girl for $90K. i'm not saying she's *worth* more, but what in the heck would i replace her with that was better (for that price)?

I am glad to hear you found joy in hitting the start stop button because most people I came across hate the start stop so much and therefore hate having to hit it every time they get in the car just to disable it. I am neutral towards that though.

Never have to worry about that button as long as you’re in sport+ 😏 haha
