Haha. I hadn't order it. I was thinking of having it wrapped with real carbon fiber but it would have to be removed and reinstalled.
Are there replacements available through MB parts?

I've seen at an exploded diagram (maybe from Alex??) and removal/replacement isn't trivial.
It is an expensive CF option, which at the time, I decided that since it was behind by head, didn't add any great visual appeal, unlike the CF dash trim.
In hind sight, I would have added it, along with door sills and the exterior pack.

Love looking at the matte CF crossbar through the rear glass and whenever I pop the rear trunk. Integrates nicely with the matte CF center console and vents which can be appreciated in a single view along with the crossbar.

It is not structural. It was inserted to separate passenger and luggage. It prevents cargo from coming in the front while driving.

Why do you say that, because I can't believe AMG added it for decoration?

Same here. That's what I was told. It's not structural; just there to keep bags and stuff from sliding forward into the front.

....and not difficult to remove either. Might not be preferred but I suspect a quality CF wrap job on this, the console and vents would be hard to differentiate from 'real' for most.

I like the Silver carbon fiber look and I use the SCF vinyl to protect the tops of the crossbar and plastic as I lay golf clubs
in the car often works great is easily removed and replaced if it gets scratched....

I did get the Gloss Carbon Fiber Package so the Center V console is Chrome silver and I left the Crossbar as Chrome silver . I thought if I did Gloss CArbon for the crossbar it would get too dark.
I got high end Burmrster so I figured all the silver accents would match against the Black Exclusive Nappa leather. Silver of the speakers, Console, seat inserts, Crossbar , door handles and foot pedals. Now, since I’m waiting, I over think it.
