GTR: Finally!
After almost 4 months of sitting at the VPC, I finally got the "you're car is here" call last Thu and of course I was out of town until Friday night. A sleepless Friday and Saturday morning could not come fast enough. This was the dealer's first GTR and when I arrived there was a swarm of people surrounding the car - I couldn't even see the car through the crowd. I sat back for a few minutes and let the crowd slowly disperse. I almost ordered Green but went with Magno Grey and I was a bit nervous I had made the wrong choice. At first glimpse of the car I knew I had made the right decision - the car is much more stunning in person. Took her for a quick test drive, filled up the tank, came back and signed the paperwork and a nice drive back up to WLA with about 500 thumbs up from onlookers. Will post more impressions later but this thing is a beast, even without hammering on it during the break in. No doubt it makes more power than what MBZ claims. The long nose definitely takes a little getting used to, especially compared to my 911. I wish they offered a front nose lift option (I'll see if I can add one), but for the price it's hard to beat what you get here. Can't wait to hit the canyons after I wrap the front end. Quick shout out to David G. and David K. at the House of Imports for a great experience! Can't blame the dealer for the long wait at the VPC. MBUSA is offering all GTR owners who originally ordered the car 2 years of free maintenance due to the long wait time. I gladly accepted.

Sweet. PM me if you want to do mountain roads in the Santa Monica Mountains. I live here. Close to one of the often photographed stretches on Mulholland Highway. I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with you, though.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Very Nice Indeed!!
You have far more patience than I could muster up after a year wait from ordering and 6 months at the VPC.
I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am starting to enjoy mine.
Best Regards

NIce! We're like twins, except I have the CCB brakes, other than that I think we have the same build. If you meet up with MalibuScott let me know i'll bring mine out too.

Vanos, absolutely awesome car, looks so badass in that color and perfectly spec'd. Congrats and good luck with her.

Wow your post was amazing to read because we have the exact same spec . Mine arrived in Halifax on the 31st and is on the train right now on its way to Toronto .
completely agree with what you said, it's really incredible in person and I've never even seen one all I've seen was the gtc and I was blown away.
enjoy the car give us some more driving impressions when you have time. I'll definitely post this week when I pick it up
question , they ordered the car cover for you?

Would you believe there’s a Benz under there? Haha.

So when shall we do a GT meetup in Malibu? Those mountain roads are beckoning. We could meet at my place. I'm at the start of a 26 mile trek down Mulholland Highway, with twisties, all the way to PCH. And then we could meet up at Leo Carrillo Beach State Park. (I used to do these meet ups with BMW i8 and, before that, M6 drivers when I had those cars.)
