I just found out that AP Racing have J-Hook rotors for the GTS. These MAY, and I stress may as I don’t know, work for the GTR with iron brakes also.

If they do fit, they are a fantastic rotor. I’ve used them on an ‘09 Nissan GTR with great results:

GTS rotors are the same as GTR steel rotors they do fit. Exotics Racing Las Vegas has the J hook fronts on their GTR. But I believe they are not as thick as the stock rotors so you might have to get a different pad compared to stock.

I know Girodisc has front and rear rotors for the GTR

The nice thing about the AP Racing rotors is that you can just replace the rotors ring when worn and re-use the hat. Great rotors!

Guys ! I need your help. I saw that some of you were running Hoosier's. Can anyone confirm if 295 size from them is not too much for front's in GTR ? Let me know please.

Yes you can run the 295/30/19 front and 335/25/20 rear. They work great on the car no rubbing what so ever. You might want to put a little more negative camber than stock just so you don’t kill the outside of the fronts

What’s your experience with the Trofeo R like? This is the tyre I’m going to try as a step up from the Cup2.

What sizes are you running? 285 and 335?

Yep 285, 335 from Mclaren P1. Trofeo's are a level up to regular Cup2. Way better grip, a lot better heat resistance and consistent times lap by lap. In cup2 after 2 fast laps you can fell tires have enough. One weaknes is that they are big. In fast corners or on fast tracks they touch mudguards so preapre for holes

However i heard some guys use cup2 zp and they are very satisfied and no mudguard issue, but not sure if they are better in performance than Trofeo R. Maybe this direction will be better. They look pretty much like new cup2 R which are probably better than trofeo's. I will try them on my Porsche when i finish trofeo's.

They don’t make the A7 in a 20 inch only the R7.

Thanks Mega. ZP not available over here for a sensible price, they’re like $3,500 a set, which is insane.

Wait, which bit of Europe are you in, I’m in the UK and I can’t find ZP tyres anywhere for a sensible price, €3,000 is the best. Where are you getting them from?

I'm from Poland. Right now zp number in storages is "ZERO". At least for central and east Europe. My Michelin guy can't get info when they be available again. It's probably due that Michelin is preparing cup2 R launch. However i have prices for R in 285 and 335. I will get info on Monday when they be available.

You can try to order them directly from USA. I'm waiting for reply regarding shipping costs.

Do you have a good pricing source for the R7s? I’ve always purchased tyres from Tirerack due to the convenience and generally good pricing, but if you have a favourite place to buy them from, let me know.
TIA.

I’m running sc2’s again

Anyone recommend best starting and running pressures for the track? It’s been a few years since I ran these. Thanks!

If you’re talking about the OEM SC2s, I think you should be aiming for mid-30’s psi hot, so 26-28 cold depending on the track and your driving style/speed.

I’m in a quandary. I want to buy Renntech brake cooling ducts and a geo setup, but I think the TIKT ducts are better, the fronts at least. They come with really good testing data and have a much larger opening than the Renntech ones, but they don’t appear to have a rear set yet. Has anyone used the Renntech ducts and had a dramatic improvement?

I’m sure a Renntech geo will be really good, so I don’t want to **** on their chips by getting their competitor’s ducts if they aren’t any better.

I can’t comment on the renntech ducts but the tikt ones are amazing. There is a guy in Europe selling his tikt ducts because he is seeking his GTR. The tikt ducts are listed on Race Cars Direct, if anyone is interested.

Peter,

Even though we were unable to come to terms with Tikt to help organise a group buy, they did tell me that their rear ducts were just a few weeks away.

Like you, I believe that the Tikt product looks like it is superior to the Renntech one, and MG1422 has had great results using just the front Tikt ducts at COTA, which is tough on brakes. Also his car is on iron brakes, not the CCMs; hence more prone to fade.

IF you intend to drive on track with ESP Off, and you aren’t massively hard on the brakes, I believe that your OEM rear brakes especially with the RSC1s will hold up well, even without rear brake ducts installed initially. So, I’d buy the Tikt front ducts; drive the ***** off the car and then just install the rear ducts when they’re available. Just keep an eye on the rear pad depth after the track.

I made contact with him today. He says that the bump-steer steering links are also required as the ducts would foul the OE links. Did you also install the bump-steer kit?

I will do exactly this I think. I've sent an email to TIKT to enquire about the rears, but I'll have a quick session or two just to see what's what.

The bump steer kit is not required for you to run the ducts. That is BS
