Although I am interested in trying out the bump steer kit. I was going to buy it but decided to get wheels made instead to run Pirelli DH slicks.

I'm going to visit guys from Tikt tomorrow. Let me know if someone wants me to ask them particularly about something or take a look at something

Yes please. Rear ducts available yet and is the bump steer mod required with the front ducts. Any discount available for poor Brits? :P

Hahaha

So... They will have rear's in 2 weeks. Bumpsteer is not required for front ducts. They don't like Brits, so no discount...

Haha now that’s just racist

I can wait two weeks though, hopefully they cost less than the fronts.

After a nice chat with Lukas of Renntech Germany, I'm going with their front and rear ducts. There is sufficient difference in the designs and cooling effect that make me lean towards this solution over the TIKT alternative. No doubt the TIKT ones work way better than no ducts, but I believe there to be added performance with the Renntech ones.

Nice! It sounds like you will be the first one on the forum to get them. Please keep us posted with their performance.

Peter,

Can you elaborate on why RT believes their’s to be the better solution?

PM if necessary.

Bish, details such as both caliper cooling, better centre-disc cooling, and retaining a heat shield near the lower wishbone bearing. They didn’t want to give away specific details or low-level photographs as the current product is the result of 4 years of development with MB themselves.

Remember, RennTech's research and development headquarters is located at the Nurburgring. That's enough to make me think their brake cooling ducts work very well...

Whilst true, Tikt make some excellent products for the Corvette C7 re: cooling, etc. Plus Mariano has high praise for the Tikt front brake cooling ducts on his car at COTA.

I was just about to post that ‘Vengence Racing’ has now become the official US distributor for Tikt products in the USA. I’ve sent them an email asking about pricing on the brake ducts; (hopefully front and rear), and will post back when I hear something.

Just in case someone remains interested.

The GP circuit is hard on brakes which is good, the Nordschliefe not so much, but still reassuring.

No doubt the TIKT stuff works, the data and evidence is plain to see. It would be good to compare the two somehow.

I think both the Tikt and the Renntech would have similar performance. The cooling "mouth" does look larger on the tikt than the renntech but I only say this from pictures. I think it will come down to what each one is comfortable with brand a cost wise. The renntech might also be better looking carbon fiber but I really dont care because you cant see them.

Going out to COTA this Friday for a night event. I'm excited to test out the new alignment. I hope my tires have enough life for 2 days in the Texas heat.

Here's my design for the rear ducts. It works with cut dust shields to feed air to the rotor and the brake calipers. I'd be happy to make a few if I can get about 4 people interested at $250 a set.

Ronac, nice job on the ducting! Get ready for all the questions... I’ll start. Have you tracked them yet? What material did you use, HDPE? Did you print them or create a mold? I may be very interested in a set.

This set is printed but I'll be outsourcing it to have it thermoformed out of polypropylene with flame retardant additives (if enough people are interested).

I'll be testing these out in late August.

Ordered mine the other day after hearing from Peter. The Pagid RSC1 pads are bloody difficult to find as there aren’t many around. Clark at Apex Motorsports found them for me with a good discount, so hit him up if you want to try a slightly more track oriented pad than the OEMs with your CCMs.

Anyone got a good track geo they could share with me please? I’m not going to be able to get a Renntech setup before the Nordschleife track day.

Good news is that the ducts will be with me on Monday.

Do you mean track alignment, Peter?
