COILOVER/SPRING MOD THREAD
So I know this subject has been touched on occasionally, but I was hoping maybe we can centralized information regarding our cars and specifically get feedback from owners who have actual aftermarket suspension products on their GT‘s .
Looking for all types of suspension feedback including handling/conference/lowering impressions.
In my case, I’m looking for a way to drop the vehicle about an inch and maybe get a more progressive style spring set up without getting into the big dollars on coil overs. I’ve researched KW and H&R and have not had definitive feedback after the modifications.

I'm on Weistec coilover 'sleeves'. Not a true coil. I'm happy with them as I can change my desire to go lower or higher.
However, the Sport setting is now what was Comfort. In other words, once lowered the Comfort setting is completely useless, making the car somewhat unstable during aggressive driving.

I’m running Renntech coilovers installed by an MB dealership which is an authorized Renntech supplier. I’m very happy with the handling and the look. (Other than the GTRs, our cars look like they are on stilts.) The Renntech’s are adjustable for a drop of up to 1.5 inches. The ride is stiffer on the street under normal conditions, but my car is not a DD and I prefer stiffly sprung cars. On track I was pleased with the handling, but have no basis of comparison having never tracked the car with the OEM springs.

Thx for responses.
Seems like way to go here would be coilovers as doing springs only would be the same 4-6 hours labor. Leaning towards KW if I plunge.
Vick! Any input here?

KW HAS- installed back in 2015--- sleeves and Weistec actually did the install (their springs were not out yet). I pretty much have the rears maxed and the front still has room. I find that the spring rates and progressive nature of KW actually makes the car more comfortable than the taut oem springs- the dampers are already stiff as fawk. With a proper alignment the car drives excellent and relatively close to stock. Its very planted in the straights and high speed turns. Its a good product for form married with function. Almost all my HAS cars have been dialed right: 458, Huracan, FF, GTS, M5, M4, RS7, etc---- yes the 458 and Huracan sleeves via Novitec are private labeled KW's.

Looking at car today and the only thing that need to be fixed is that awful gap in the fender well. I’m going with the KW adjustable sleeves on Vic’s history and recommendation. Anyone with installation advice let me know, but I found a local installer that has done a lot of these sleeves on AMGs, just not on a GT.
They have to be special ordered so it will take a while and I will report back.

I run the KW height adjustable springs and went up to the next firmer race rear spring to eliminate understeer and squat on corner exit ..

So quick question... when you use either the KW adjustable height spring kit or the H&R lowering springs have you had to replace the rear toe arms? When i changed to Bilstein on my 45 in order to get the rear toe in with in specs I had to replace the toe arms. Is the the case with the GT's I want to pull the trigger but want to see what else I have to order. thanks guys.

45 is a drastically different car in every way and by no means a good comparison for mods of any description

I just left the shop local here in Atlanta, and they checked my camber which is about 1.7 to 1.9 and that tech seem to think it was a bad idea to be dropping the car and wasn’t quite sure about how to keep that camber in line with the shims. what is everybody else running after the drop?
