US website configuration stuck in 2019
Why does US AMG website still show 2019 model year and suck so much? The German website is not only up to date, but has far better graphics with full screen 360 view. Use Google to translate. Selected interior color is depicted in exterior view.

Interesting how Germans have much more granular option selections. For example, you can choose dial vs touch menu interface, whether or not to have memory seats, etc. In the US everything is bundled in.

I can’t believe Germany—home of Porsche, MB AMG, BMW—would allow this!
Could this happen in America? Sure, it may save a few lives, but just how much more government do you want in your day to day lives? This is the insidious lure of collectivism until one day the frog is boiled to death one degree at a time.

That’s for sure! In 2022 cars in the EU will be speed governed to the posted speed limit. Plus driver facing cameras, data loggers,

That’s good. Surely Europeans will stand up for their rights.
Nevertheless, here’s my dystopian prediction of the future (expanding upon an idea Lee Iacocca once published):
One day the government will say it is simply too dangerous and inefficient to entrust us with driving our own cars compared to self-driving cars. 40,000 people die in car accidents in the US each year. It would not be hard for autonomous cars to do way better than this. Just like horseback riding (once our main mode of transportation) is not allowed on highways, but is relegated to private property and self-contained events; so too, personal driving will be only allowed on closed tracks. It will become a hobby or sport, like horseback riding has become. Today most folks, especially urban types, would be terrified to get on a horse (so dangerous). Well one day folks will be afraid to drive themselves on public roads. What—drive toward each other at a closing speed of 120 mph only 2 feet apart? Are you kidding, that’s terrifying! How can I do that and check my phone, do my makeup, get a nap, etc on the way to work. You see, people will WELCOME this automation. And so, will be the death of our freedom to drive our speed-limited, eavesdropping cars on the wide open roads.
How’s that? Any thoughts?
