Anyone interested in using the search function or actually scrolling down the page of topics on this Forum before making a duplicate post ?
Its been asked and answered . The other entry is 25 lines down and still on page one of this forum .
Btw, this is an AMG forum not a Chevy forum. Ask the crowd on a Chevy forum regarding that auto. Any info you get here is just conjecture .

The rear lights and the exhaust tips should of been round with a more pronounced wing in my opinion to have carried over the historic design style. This would of captured more people and really looked good...

I guess the topic title : Anyone getting a Mid-Engine Vette? Wasn’t eye catching enough.
he wants someone to answer his question Readers Digest version . Doesn’t want to do the work of reading and processing the info.
I am arrogant and proud.

I always found the site search functions on any forum to be lack luster. Google site search is much better + with better limiting tools.
Search like this (put the following in google with the same formatting):
site:mbworld.org c8 corvette

Elaborate search engines like the algorithms used by google also search for associated established tags from a history of accumulated searches. Tags such as: mid-engine, ME, Vette, C8, C7..., "American sports" car could also be included if the absolute key word search renders few results. It would be beneficial if the search engine on these car forums would also parse the description text for the absolute key word given to search. I'm sure "C8" and "corvette" are present in the text of the thread pointed out. This would have given a hit and rendered the thread as a result.
Some search engines look for other key words in the text following "tags:" to include and establish a database of keywords and closely associated tags to give more complete results.
A more elaborate search engine would be very useful in car forms because users call things by different names.
The ability to enter tags would also be useful.
I'm sure everyone of us a sometime had difficulty finding something on a car forum with a limited search algorithm.

Slow down a little before typing things that make you look bad to other forum members.
Ease up Cutter, not too long ago you could have been subject to the same rude welcoming. You are not an expert on search parameters or the forum police. Show some restraint and in turn maybe guide someone with a little more respect. I am 100% certain you would NOT talk like this in person to someone else at the sake of getting punched in the face.

I appreciate the response and Im sure the OP does too... I know you love your AMG and I have loved all of mine too but we dont have a competition forum per se so we allow for cross shopping models to be compared. I think the C8 is a formidable in regards to price and "estimated" performance. Would I get one? I dont know as Ive never had a domestic sports car and I frankly love German but damn its bridging the gap more than I expected.

I owned a loaded C7 Z06/7 for almost 2 1/2 years, and it was a fantastic car; I traded it for my GTR. I have stated before that in many ways the GTR is a Germanic version of a Z06; just better in most ways. I strongly suspect that the C8 Z06/7 if it arrives with the ‘Cadillac’ Blackwing(?) 4.2 litre V8TT engine is going to be epic, and it will be high on my radar for a vehicle to replace my ‘18 GTR as the AMG will probably be close to 4 years old when the C8 Z06 has been on sale for about 6 months. It is going to be super important to wait until people have taken delivery and driven the C8 for a while though, to ensure there aren’t any major ****-ups! lol

AMG GTC Roadster, E63s Ed.1, M8 Comp. Coupe
That said, I can see why many will not opt for the roadster. With the soft top up it feels quite tight inside with lousy visibility to the rear (more or less same design as the SLS roadster). And it is louder with the top up than with it down; that's a turn off to many I know. The trunk is tiny and shallow; forget about trying to fit a case of wine and you need to slam it to close it. Simply not a very practical car.
Plus the price is significant IMO. The 18/19 base price was only $500 apart from the GTR
Love it though. More agile than the E63s, pretty fast and great sounding. I also like the look of the car top up/down...
Damn. Could have saved some more money...

The rear visibility kinda makes me laugh cause I have to lean upward haha.
It is all worth it with the top down + crackles past 5k rpm. The sound is so phenomenal. Especially nowadays with cars having better insulation and windows being more soundproof - the roadster really opens it up.

Man, that's amazing. I thought 50k off was decent. This is a whole diff level haha.
I feel like the GT roadsters are underrated. Unlike most roadster versions of coupes - the roadster looks just as good. But yeah, def not daily drivable compared to other cars.

Personally I take the roadster over the coupe but I think a GTR would make a fine complement
