I have a Bosch unit that I picked up spur of the moment at O’Reilys iirc. Works well, although it’s a couple of years old now and I’ve never had to use it on the AMG, just the wife’s Jeep. Constantly! lol
Always make sure that the unit you buy includes the manufacturer/model year, etc. for your specific car.

I would try a reset - disconnect the battery, wait a few minutes, then reconnect. Make sure to disconnect the correct polarity (not sure whether + or - is best).

Motor mount was replaced under warranty, and all is well. It did not seem to be a problem to replace even though my dealer had not done it before
Before we go there - A P002177 is what is defined as an "implausible error" meaning the EMS is receiving a signal that is outside any known parameters it should be seeing. In other words, a signal it cannot process..."off the map" so to speak. On these engines, a probable failure is that the cam stator shifts and is common with a P002177, maybe more common than a failed camshaft sensor. That means the stator has rotated on the camshaft making it no longer in an operable position to make sense to the EMS. This, normally, would require resetting the camshaft and stator (and LOTS of factory specialized jigs)
Since in your case, the CEL cam is coincidental with the engine washing, you might be lucky with a failed sensor.
OK, so where is the sensor? It is on the LEFT bank, bank 2. Left and right is ALWAYS determined when you're sitting in the driver's seat looking out the windshield. So, left bank is on the driver's side of a LHD car. My pic, unfortunately, is showing the RIGHT SIDE Bank 1, so you need to "use your imagination" and sort through the info switching sides. Again, this is BC I couldn't find a single pic showing the LS, Bank 2.
So, here goes - The red arrow shows the exhaust cam, bank 1, and the yellow circled sensor is the EXHAUST cam sensor on the right bank, bank 1. The blue arrow shows the INTAKE cam BANK 1, and out of the pic you would see a similar sensor to the yellow circled one and that would be the INTAKE cam sensor, BANK 1.
Now you need to switch your search to the other bank, BANK 2 where the P002177 resides, and find the INTAKE cam sensor. It will be closer to the fender, not closer inboard.
The green arrow, BTW, is the exhaust cam solenoid, bank 1. There is a solenoid for each of the 4 cams. This is NOT the part for which you're looking.

I will try to inspect that sensor (the other side that picture says), I hope it will be just it as resetting camshaft and stator sounds money!
And i guess i need some kind of better code reader..

You'll find that they are more actively involved in the threads for SL55, SL65 etc as there a more D.I.Y members.
As I still have an SL55 and an S65 I have always used the SDS system as I do all my own work. In January I acquired my 2017 AMG GTS (with a frozen engine) I have installed a replacement motor since and in the process have made extensive use of SDS system.
Best H
Anyway found a sensor, super tricky to check.. Need to remove some parts to get there!
I guess I will book the service visit..
Thanks
It is adaptive transmission mount.
Anyone knows where i can find code for it?

let me know if you get the X431 and if you like it. I have about 3 scanners, all under $300, but none of them are bi-directional and they can't read transmission codes/temperature etc... I'd love one that does and not sure I want to get into star/SDS
