Refund that maintenance contract. Maintenance in my 3 years 900. And I did oil every 3K.

The CPO is worth every penny. The Maintenance seems really high unless there is a expensive service around year four, etc.

Great deal on the CPO warranty. The warranty is underwritten by Mercedes and not the dealer? I didn’t realize that Mercedes offered a 6 year CPO.

I likewise have a 6 year (3 extra years) CPO on the car I bought about a year ago; I paid just a little less than 5K. Well worth it IMHO and a nice selling point given it is transferable.

I'll concur on the maintenance; while at dealer prices that may work out, quite a bit of the car is low maintenance and the maintenance itself is very easy if you are so inclined.

The extended warranty is transferable if you sell to a private party but is of no value if you trade to a Mercedes dealer. Here are links to the info and transfer form that is required (in the USA.)

Where did you get the 6 years from?? I was just told it the maximum was additional 2 years on top of the year that comes from a Certified car.

mbusa.com itself is a little vague. It says CPO is 1 year / unlimited miles after .. yet on other mb dealer website Ive read that it can be 2 years / unlimited miles. When you ask for the price of the 2nd year, they say you can go over pricing in finance. Makes it sound like a 3rd party coverage, but who knows...

anyone recommend a really good 3rd party warranty for the AMG GT / GT S ? I know those words don't usually end up in the same sentence, but there are still reliable companies out there that are better than just the paper they are written on

Fidelity. Search on rennlist for the thread, and get the discount that way. I got 3yr/36k for about $2600, for full coverage. Mileage is going to be the largest factor in determining price of the plan for you personally, outside of length of term. Allows you to use an indi shop for the warranty work, and only visual inspection required to OK the work.

I believe that is the "official" policy that MB provides but warranties are always done through the finance office and each dealer has its own policy I guess. I am distant friends with the manager of this dealer and based on what everyone is saying they cut me a pretty good deal. I think the most important thing is to start with a car that is listed as CPO and then see what your warranty options are from there. I was enquiring about another GT they had at the time and there were no special deals to be had with that one.

If I understand correctly that you purchased 6 years of warranty from your date of purchase, then I would agree that you negotiated an excellent warranty package. Congrats on your new car and 6 years of worry free ownership.

That is correct, the car will be covered by Mercedes for the 6 year term of the loan.

Thank you!

Just wondering how that compares to some of the other warranties you guys have gotten? This was purchased from a MB dealer in San Jose, Ca.

Thanks!
I think you did fairly well on both.
CPO WARRANTY
The 6 year CPO is really 3 years Original Factory Warranty transferred to you and 3 years CPO (extended coverage). Still a very good value. In addition to the obvious you get factory software updates and loaner cars. WHAT YOU DON’T GET - Is wearable replacements tires, brakes etc. Tires are about $2,500 out the door and complete brakes (steel) will be $5k Ceramic with rotors will be around $10k.

PREPAID SERVICE

The $4k you paid will cover scheduled service and loaner cars. Most services are oil and filter plus clean air and cabin filters 1 differential and 1 transmission service and a brake flush.
Labor on these items is the most expensive cost.

Remember to leave enough warranty to pass on to the next buyer.

Congratulations on your purchase.

MB says 4 years or 40,000 miles. I just hit 4 years and 22k miles. Getting it done this week I think.

Also probably going to do spark plugs.

I think the post below yours is correct. The labor involved these days definitely isn’t like crawling under a 57 Chevy and pulling the differential and tranny plugs, waiting for them to drain and putting the plugs back in and adding the fluid....30 minutes tops.

I recently purchased a 2017 GTS that has 8 months of warranty and 1 year of CPO (20 months total)
they offered to extend the CPO for 2 extra years for $6800 (discounted from $8000) and maintenance for $3100 (discounted from $4000)
I didnt take either one.

My '16 GTS is coming up on the end of its factory warranty next month, and I just purchased the Hendrick Autoguard Platinum additional 5 years/75k through my local MB dealer for $3295. I've used this warranty before and it's comparable if not a bit better than CPO.
