Any GT Owners Here That Own or Owned a C63?
Crossing over from my 204 AMG forum to post a quick question for anyone who came into their GT from a C63.
I have my eye on a cherry GTs and am having a serious case of lip licking... In a perfect world I would keep both my C63 and buy a GT as a third car but, alas, only a two car garage and I already have one sitting outside.
Part of my problem is that I am very much in love with my C63. It's been a bulletproof ride and I still enjoy driving it today as much as i did when I purchased it. So my question for those of you who made the jump is: did you ever look back? Or did the GT forever kill any nostalgia you had for the ol' M156 and 204 platform? Does the 2x price tag = at least a 2x feature/thrill increase?
I have superhuman powers of rationalization so my brain is ready to make the jump... I need an emotional kick in the ***.

The GT is totally more than twice the car of a C63. I have not regretted the switch one bit.
The W204 C63 has two major flaws: the transmission is slow to shift and there is not enough rear traction. So even though the 6.2L is amazing, it doesn’t feel as responsive or as fast as it should because of these flaws.
The GT, in my case a GT C, feels more nimble, more responsive, with huge grip... it’s altogether more precise and sharper... not to mention the way it looks.

You won't regret it. I might be selling or trading mine soon (I have a real stupid itch with three numbers... 720) but I know my heart will always have a soft spot for the GT.
mid say go for it!

My ONLY hesitation is that it shows as a 3-year lease and, although it only has about 15,000 miles, there are NO service records until it went through the CPO process... That makes me a little nervous. Maybe the PO took it to an indy shop? But it makes me nervous that it may have been driven for 15,000 miles with no oil changes or major fluid checks which could cause me headaches down the road. I know if it were my car, even if leased, there would be at least 5K and 10K service records on it.
Anyone agree or am I being too paranoid?

OP - I still have my W204 2014 507 edition. As others have said here, the M156 is a modern marvel. I am of the opinion that 20 years from now, our W204s will be something similar to the 57 Chevys, 68 GTOs, 73 Trans Ams that we all see now and go crazy! I actually just surpassed 72K glorious miles this afternoon in the 507.
I have a GTC and it is just a completely different vehicle. It is a different kind of speed, cornering, braking and "tossing around" experience. I had the opportunity to have the GT over in Germany. It was an AWESOME experience. I was sold on the car when we went from Heidelberg up to Königstuhl on some back twisty roads. The car felt like it had rear downforce with the LSD and every corner felt planted. Pulling over 1G in the corners felt fantastic for me...when we got to Königstuhl, the wife had to go straight to a garbage can and have a "moment" as she doesn't do Gs well. That was also my, "hot damn, this car rocks!!!!" moment. The GTC is also significantly quicker than the 507 but both are great cars to drive.
The C63 is raw straight up in your face; the GT is more refined and just does everything well (I know some say the steel brakes suck but over in Germany on unrestricted Autobahns, we never had any problems with multiple 300KM->130KM decelerations.). For me, the 507 is an absolute keeper. It is the Utility car with the back seat and trunk. The GTC is the fun, spring/summer/early autumn car.
Best of luck to you.

Its a GTS Someone drove roughly 5,000 miles a year. Buy it, have some maintenance done (oil change and brake fluid flush) and have a blast in it!

Carfax should show if any service was done as should the Mercedes dealer if you give them the VIN

My wife is starting to think she might like to drive to work now that we live in LA. Which means she gets the GLK350 back that I’ve been commuting in, and I get a GTR. Or she picks up a little commuting car like a Mini or Fiat, and I trade the GLK in for a GLC63S Coupe maybe. Decisions decisions....
As all have stated different cars all together , i may? miss the back seat for stuff but will LOVE the experience...
