I’m considering going to see a 2016 GTS Edition 1 with 21k kms on it. Asking $109k CAD. Warranty ends this year. How much of an issue is no warrant on these cars along with the higher kms?
My thoughts are towards a GTS or a GTR. Unless A GTC is a great deal and in the $115k to $120k price realm, I would rather go with a GTR, which can be had for $160k to $170k CAD.

For me, the choice was clear: I far prefer the 2019 interior and think it will deprecate less than the 2020. And for the way I drive the car, the GTC makes sense. The massive savings was a bonus.

That said, willing to spend $109k on an old 2015 car (2016 model) which probably also sat for a while if warranty is still active, and then only willing to go up $5-$11k for much newer, higher-end model with more features is puzzling. I love the GTR but I remember that GTC was as close to the GTR price wise as the GT was to the GTS. There was a gap between the 2 groups for a reason.
Even though we have the GTC roadster which we love, if getting a coupe the GTR/GTR Pro would be the only choice. Track time be damned

To reiterate, you can buy a brand new 2019 GTC in Canada now for $140-150K, after negotiation. GTR is at best around $190K, since they are 2020 models. I went through this debate a few months ago when I bought my GTC.
For me, the choice was clear: I far prefer the 2019 interior and think it will deprecate less than the 2020. And for the way I drive the car, the GTC makes sense. The massive savings was a bonus.

I chose the Pro. I would choose it again and am currently daily driving it in the winter. Car is too much fun. I am unsure why anyone would say these don't make great DDs. I even put a car seat in the front for my 5yr daughter. She loves it.

My man! Driving them how they deserve to be driven. Does it have anchor points, I thought I remember seeing some, but wasnt looking for them specifically. They have so much storage space that I love taking the car everywhere I can feasibly take it.

Every one is passionate about the car they chose! Let me add some dung to the pile...The Pro is such a gimmicky pep boys special. You have the GTR (Which they originally marketed it as the cream of the crop in performance) then you have the GTR "Pro" then you have the Black Series. What the hell was the reason for a "Pro"? So much more Pro than a GTR? So if you own a GTC or a GTS or a GTR you are not a "Pro" or "Pro enough"???!?? Seems like what benz and many other companies do....throw the last run of parts on a "limited edition" release, add some stickers, vents, more carbon (More carbon dammit!! People want more carbon! They are suckers for that ****! Wider! Add wings! CARBON rear feder skirts or whatever you call those pieces of crap. Make it look Gundam Style!!!) increase the price by $20K and people will slurp them up!!!! Stupid consumers and marketing ploys. But, then again...not really slurping....Pros ares sitting around dealerhsips rotting away. I guess it doesn't hurt if you can get them discounted. But those interiors.....uggghhh. A mouse pad, console buttons and magic lights, a steering wheel that has enough buttons on it that Texas Instruments calculators are jealous over....shhhhivers...
I don't think I can even fit a Pro into my garage, and my garage is nicely sized. I do like the roof scoop on the pro though. Looks cool and air flows nicely through that crease.
In any event, this is pretty much it boys. Grab em while you can. Benz is saying goodbye to these gas guzzling dinosaurs!

Sometimes those child seats can leave nasty dimples or even tear through thin leather. It happened to me once (good grief!)...just be careful. Otherwise looks safe and must be fun!

****. Thanks for the heads up. Our other vehicle has a rubber mat underneath the car seat. Maybe I'll steal it and used it in this one hah! Good call.

I can actually see a lot of sense in making limited quantities of a GTR that was even more track oriented, that being the Pro version. Much more track biased suspension, plus some useful increased ‘Aero’ addenda, and presto you have a version that track rats would purchase preferentially over the normal GTR. There’s only what, 750 of them being made for World wide consumption? And the icing on the cake will of course be the BS, and then no more this generation of GT.
MB chose to make the Pro since the GTR deals nicely with the Porsche GT3 on track, and the Pro (in the right hands) is the version to attack the GT3 RS. Ultimately the BS will be going after the GT2RS records.
From a marketing perspective it makes sense to me.

Here are two GTR’s not too far from me. None have CCB’s.

I know the it’s the same vehicle listed at two places because when I contacted the dealership with the other ad they said they are the ones who have the vehicle currently and that its listed at another dealership. I asked for spec sheet and no response yet.

Yeah, but that car seems to be listed once at two dealerships. On one of the ads it states the vehicle has CCB but when I contacted the dealership it’s supposedly at, they said it doesn’t have CCB.

I will say the High End audio is a Major improvement over the standard Burmester. Plus, the metal grills look so much better.
Nice touch that a Chinese person assembled the engine and owned it!

Don’t know why you would spend $30K more for a used GTR vs a brand new GTC, but that’s your call...

I’d rather not buy a vehicle test driven by anyone and everyone.

You can negotiate heavily. Find a low priced one on Autotrader and use it to get the discount you want on the car you want. I paid $150k for a fully loaded brand new GTC. That includes the $7K worth of exterior carbon. So without that and without the Burmester HE, you should be at around $135K. Feel free to use my deal as a bargaining chip, I just bought it 90 days ago.
Totally agree. What do you think happened to the GTR with 6000km?!

as for the green hell GTR, how can you ascertain that it’s been joyrided by randoms?

I mean, the cars are robust, and you have the full mfg warranty. I would recommend my AMG Certified mechanic at MB Oakville (I can PM you the full details). But I am rather particular about joyriders. My car had 220km on it which was a bit high, in my mind. But at that discount, it was worth it.
That said, I think $166k is a good price for a 2019 GTR. I would say you can buy a new GTC for $145K and see if they'll go to $155K - argue that the list price of both cars are nearly the same (which is true).

The whole conversation seems to have devolved quite a bit. Now it's just about pricing and how many miles on the car... Razzy, have you even driven a single GT model? If so, which one did you like the most and why?
Anyways, you Canadians are lucky with these nice prices. Except the Edition 1 GTS. That thing is completely overpriced compared to the GTR's etc.

Ok, got it. Well it has 6000km... so it's definitely not new, and it's been at 1-2 dealerships.
