AMG GTR depreciation
Ive never been on a forum where people ask so many questions and are so concerned with depreciation.
Why is this important? If you like the car - buy a new or used one. Enjoy it.
I bought a 2020 GTR Pro and a fella at the dealership commented on how it’s going to be a collectors and go up in value - my response ‘not when I’m done with it. I’m going to **** this car up’.
Regardless it wasn’t going to go up in value as it isn’t ‘special enough’ and I think that about the GTR in general. Demand doesn’t outway supply.

And depreciation sucks but guess what, my mclaren and Ferrari FF were 100 k plus losses, as well as other cars
no one wants to lose that money but if you can afford it you just suck it up and enjoy or like most on forums now penny pinch their every dollar, sometimes it works out sometimes not...
my s class cab I can’t imagine what it’s worth from my 170 sticker , now.
just is what it is
people buying only on “safe” special cars aren’t true enthusiasts
if you buy what you truly love, you’re going to lose one way or another, but you’ll make it up with smiles and experiences.

My issue is that I am an enthusiast, but there's nothing on the market atm that I really love, that isn't mileage sensitive (Ford GT), so I chose a good all arounder instead.

Also this guy got a great deal on his GTR, poor guy... https://www.swapalease.com/lease/det...?salid=1426447

I inquired and it was still considered an accident
even if not on carfax it’s not a complete and fully clean no story car
inder cf braces and bit missing? Imagine the cost to replace
gets you into a no story clean car at 135 plus
i like to compare apples to apples
if someone asked me about 991.2 rs pricing I wouldn’t t quote them the one damage for 135 right now ya know?
As for gtr
its most exciting car since my 3 2008 favs of the Superleggera/Scuderia and GT3 rs
brings me back to that hardcore era that I love and know , just makes you feel like a true track guy/enthusiast of the past in this modern day of speculative talks, depreciation and appreciation talks, it’s about driving and takes care of business.

but better for depreciation? How about performante which I own and 720s?
and then look at these figures ?

This car isn't for everybody and since it's already facelifted it's taken two hits.

The GTs will hold their value over the long-term - 7++ years.
Why? Because it’s the last non-hybrid AMG. The new GT will most certainly be more expensive as well. There’s no way they can put all the new electric motor tech in and keep the price the same.
10 years out a well-kept low mileage GT will be between $80k (GTS) to $100k (GTR), with the GTC being in-betwee, and the GT around $65-75k. That’s my prediction. And prices should stay that way.
I don’t think the GTR Pro will be worth much more than $5-$10k more than the GTR.
Remember the SLS was not selling in its final year or two of production. They were sitting on lots with $10k discounts. Not suggesting the GTs will appreciate above MSRP, far from it, but I do think they will stabilize around $100k.
Now and for the next year or two is the WORST time to sell, so hold on to it and watch the price you list it at.
If you don’t agree, set yourself a reminder and check this post again in 7 years!

I am guessing it'll be a $50-60K car as a 5 year car, a great bargain actually, but reliability has always been crap when it comes to German marques, with Porsche as a minor exception, hence the horrendous depreciation. Anyone who's worried about depreciation should look at Ferraris, I personally recommend the Huracan Evo spyder though, a much better way to spend $200k+ than any AMG GT, assuming you're not overly tall.
