GTR PRO Matte paint care
Hey everyone, Just picked up a 2020 AMG GTR pro a few days ago. I love it. Was hoping you guys could share some light on how to care for this type of paint. List some products for casual cleaning, as well as what to let my detailers know if they're not already familiar with this kind of paint. AND if anyone knows of a good at home detailing company in the Los Angeles/ Pasadena area. Thanks. Here are some pics

My suggestion, as an owner of a magno paint, is to immediately get it ppfed. It's a very troublesome paint to fix blemishes and chips on, and the ppf is worth it to bypass any future headaches with the paint.

Congratulations on the purchase. Awesome car and beautiful color. I’m biased of course. I have great results using a detailer protectant containing PTEF. Cleans, protects and leaves no streaks. Maintains the desired matte finish. Works great on the paint. I apply it over the PPF as well.
I use Ultimate Matte Finish by Star brite.

I have a GHM car and it has had all of the painted surfaces covered by Xpel Stealth since new, and the CF/Black painted areas covered in Xpel Ultimate. It is the only way to have some piece of mind re: protecting the paint from road debris; door dings, etc. It is worth every penny and you save in detailing costs afterwards as there’s not much to do after install except for washing and follow up with detail spray.

As others have said...PPF I believe will save you a lot of headaches down the road. At a minimum have the front areas covered. I use Chemical Guys products for matte paint on my PPF and they work great.

I used Dr.Beazley’s matte paint care products. Worked great on our Magno Night Black E63s which was our winter car. Easy care and looked just like new for the 2 + years we had it. I decided against PPF since it was a lease and the Magno paint looked more dull with clear wrap (saw the same ED1 w. PPF).

Thanks for the help guys. I’m on the fence with ppf. Maybe I’m crazy but I can definitely tell it’s there. I’ve had loads of nice cars in the past that I’ve kept 5-10 years and never put one on. If I get a chip here and there then whatever. Maybe I’ll just do the front bumper. There’s so much going on with the front of a pro that I don’t think I’ll be able to tell it’s on there lol. Just looking for some good cleaning products at the moment.

At least do the front, I have the same paint as you, and it chips to white, and can't be fixed. Keep in mind that magno paint is softer than a normal paint option, as it doesn't have the same thickness of clear coat on it. You also can't blend touchups, so fixes mean a respray, especially for scratches.
