hi, so here are a lot of popular car that looks better, nice and more powerful, even more expensive than 2020 AMG GTR coupe, example Lamborghini huracan/aventador, Mclaren whatever version, 2019 Porsche gt3rs, Ferrari and 2020 Audi R8. I've being in those cars and, people don't drive so fast toward your car just to look at your car and race you. but some how a basic 0$ black AMG GTR with 0 option attracts lots of flies and mosquitos. its so annoying they either try to race you, or stick so close to see the car during highways or local roads. and make this whole experience so terrible and annoying, even dangerous. even people with E63s and AMG GT 4 door come like far away with speed until it reaches behind my car. I've literally stop on the side of highway and flash my emergency light, and 4 of the vehicle also stop in the middle of the ****ing highway just to take a picture. ****ing ridiculous, the only car owners that does not give a **** to look are people who drives Porsches.
what should I do? I am afraid to take this ****ing car out and makes me feel like to get rid of it. I bought this car because its a nice cool car, fun to drive, I really dont want the attention. should I wrap the car into a ugly color? or should I call 911? what would you guys do? literally ****ing annoying and dangerous. I just like to cruise with this vehicle in comfort and turn my burnmester music to 100% loud. the only time I would put in race mode and sound those crackles is when there no car in the street.
I live in Nassau County on Long Island, NY. I drive a Solarbeam Yellow GTS. No one even looks or cares. There are a ton of expensive cars around. My car is a cheap mobile compared to the Lambos, Ferrari’s and Paganism .
I think it may be in your head and you’re too subconscious about driving the car. If you really are getting noticed, enjoy the satisfaction that it’s YOUR car and enjoy the admiration of others.
Seems to me that you just aren't used to the attention a car like that gets. People will want to see what your car can do, and people will want to have fun with you. Loosen up a bit, maybe a downshift here and there or a small pull would satisfy you and them. Remember, those guys are also fellow car enthusiasts and they want to share their passion with you. Stay away from wreckless drivers, but also don't be lame!
Drive it at night, take it to a track.........get up early in the morning for some fun runs before all the mosquito's and Flies wake up
And also.............breathe..........relax.........st ress is a real killer.
I have a 2012 CLS 63......and it STILL gets attention.....just today a chap in a CL63 (that's what it was badged as) STOPPED and went in reverse to see my car; waiting at a stop light! We exchanged 'whoh your car is badass' and went on our ways.
As another member Keon, and others have mentioned: it's an awesome car, has a lot of flare and people want to see them! Hell, I've never seen one in the wild, and would be thrilled to see one!
I’m too getting way too much attention in my yellow C63s Coupé, gets really annoying sometimes, especially in NYC, Long Island is not so bad... I feel your pain.
I'm amazed at the number of Brodozer lifted diesel trucks that see me and think they need to show me how fast they are🤣🤣🤣 Not sure if this is a Northwest thing or what. Ill give them the fact that running a 13-14 second quarter is amazing for 8000lbs but they're perception definitely is not reality!
Well, I think its cause either people know what it is and haven't seen one, as they aren't really common tbh. Or they have no idea what it is. I cant tell you the number of times people think I am driving a Lambo lol. "Hey nice Lambo dude, what model is it?"
The GT has incredible road presence, especially the additional width of the GTC/GTR. I saw my car passing me yesterday, which is in itself a rare occurrence. The car looks incredible coming at you!

Some of those trucks may be faster than your car. As for the racing thing people definitely drive more aggressively around cars like that. I notice that tailgating and speeding up to get close happen much more often than when I am driving a truck or such.
I get the occasional nod or wave or complement from enthusiasts in my red GT S, but otherwise nobody cares. If someone's trying to street race, just ignore them, though honestly it's rare for me to see people trying to race. I'm having a hard time relating to what you're describing. I don't even live in a particularly wealthy area; high end sports cars or supercars are rare here. Just drive normally and stop being so self-conscious of what others think about your car.
Are people taking pictures, pointing or baiting me in the highway. I’ve had everything from an old lady in a beat up Buick at a light next to me compliment me and ask what it is all the way to the local police compliment me at a light. Bottom line, ignore the idiots and enjoy your car. It’s rare and beautiful and you bought it to enjoy. Who cares about the flies? Enjoy brother!
I live about 5 minutes from Algar Ferrari, 10 minutes from the Mclaren dealer, 20 minutes from the Lamborghini, AM, Bentley dealer, and there are three Porsche dealers within 10 miles of my house, and I am also Autistic (I don't like attention or people for that matter). I have also owned close to 500 cars including almost all the brands I mentioned in here. I have had to learn to overcome many things to survive in a normal persons world, the attention my cars attract is one of them. Yes the occasional 20 something with the honda/subaru with the garbage can sized exhaust will almost blow up their cars just to pass me, I usually just slow down so to almost a crawl (that really seems to annoy them) and let them pass. If someone like me can deal with it (I avoid people whenever possible live with lots of dogs) then you can too OP. If not buy a Lotus Evora 400 (gearshift only) I had one for over a year, and they are a great drivers car that will not draw a lot of attention unless you get blue or orange.

A lot of the trucks around here rolling coal are 11 & 12 second trucks. Those are the ones usually looking to pick a fight. lol

please give me some advice.
Given your concerns, I'd sell it and stay away from exotics all together. This is the price you pay (if you can call it that). Really, to most it's considered harmless and you made someone's day - the response is a compliment to your choice in cars.
I agree with what others have said. Depending on where you drive, the attention comes with the territory. If you don't like it, you need to switch to a more dime a dozen conservative looking car. I don't like too much attention, especially not the wrong kind, so that's part of the reason I don't drive around in something more supercar like. There are a lot of jealous people around here unfortunately. I've had cars vandalized previously. But even so, I frequently get approached and people make comments and give me compliments with my '19 C63S Coupe. The aero package combined with the wide wheel arches, exterior carbon pieces and the black on black just gives it a stance and road presence that sticks out from your average Mercedes. Many are not used to seeing such an aggressive looking Mercedes, so they comment. I catch many people turning their heads at my parked car and even peek inside. If they didn't notice it while it was parked, they turn their heads as soon as I start it up using the Emotion Start. I just respond with a polite thank you and so far nobody has messed with it while it was parked somewhere. Crossing my fingers. Don't really have had anybody try to street race me per se, but I've had folks who thought they could keep up with me in the canyons, and either slowed me down because they were ahead of me, but clearly tried to be the pace car, or basically disappeared in my rear view mirror once I managed to pass them. Some pull over after a while once they realize they can't shake me and let me pass.
