Question AMG GTR - UK Car Tyre Options

Hello,

I have a 2018 AMG GTR running the factory Cup 2 tyres which I have covered around 3500 miles on. The challenge, which most will be aware of in the UK, is wet weather performance so I am looking at options to replace them for daily use, keeping the Cup 2's for track use only. I have seen a few threads but nothing current and frankly concise, so thought I would start another. My car runs the lightweight wheels as you can see here.

Current tyres are UK spec and standard fit Michelin Cup 2 in following spec.
Front: 275/35/ZR19 100Y
Rear: 325/30/ZR20 106Y

PS4S is the obvious choice as they are a superb tyre I have run on other cars, but of course not available in the 325 size. So here are my questions...

1) Can I move to 335/30/ZR20 101Y (Note both width AND load rating)
2) Can I move to 345/30/ZR20 106Y (To get the load rating)
3) Should I up the front tyres by 10mm or 20mm to match if I do
4) Has anyone done this on a GTR and have you had any issues with sensors

Thanks in advance for help and hope this helps a few with a similar dilemma.

Hi, just wondering if you ever went for ps4s or got any answers to your questions? I'm in the UK and having exactly the same thoughts.

Still on the Cup 2's for now and no one anywhere seems to have any insights on this question, sadly.

I’m thinking of ordering 285/35/19 and 345/30/20 PS4S for mine. Checked online and these should fit the 10/12” front and rears ok but going to speak to my tyre place today and see what they say. If i go for these i’ll update the thread with pics and impressions.

My GTR is my daily driver and i’ve went through a set of cup 2s in about 4500 miles of road driving in 6 month which isn’t ideal.

unfortunately not mate. In the end I decided to change the car to a c63s coupe for something a bit more practical as didn’t want to take the chance with the 4S and for them to rub or ruin the handling of the GTR.

What are U.K. drivers using?

Ive made a offer on a GT R and cup2’s aren’t a option in Manchester for more than the odd week in July/august

Not too many options:
Look into the MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 4S F:275/35ZR19 R: 345/30ZR20 (the GTR have enough room for the 345 as long as you do not add spacers or lower the rear). These tire as quite good in wet condition.
Other option is the basic MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 275/35ZR19 and 335/30ZR20.

Appreciated.

MPS4S would be my first choice.

I run 335/30/20 on stock wheels for my GTR on Michelin Super Sports, which is great for the street.

Just got my GTR in the UK and it's been a right mission to find alternative tyres to the Cup 2's. After a lot of asking around the consensus for PS4S seems to be getting 315/30/20's for the rear so a little bit thinner than the 325's but they fit fine and the GTR Ring Taxi's use them so if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me. Other options are 345/30/20 which also fit fine but do stick out over the rim a bit or using 325/25/20 which some have said are fine too.
