35,000 Miles and Out of Warranty. Sell and Buy a Low-Mileage One?
I have a 2017 GTS and it's utterly pristine. I love the car, but it's rather high-mileage as far as GT's go and I'm obviously out of warranty. I'm not too confident in the aftermarket warranty co's, so that's probably not an option that I want to go. As the market is insane now for used cars, I could probably get 87-92k for mine. My thought (it's a 3rd car) is to sell it while things are hot, wait until the market cools back down and then buy a very low-mileage 2018-2019, and one that's potentially under an extended MB warranty. Would you 1) keep my car with the 35,000 miles and hope for the best 2) sell it for amazing money, wait until prices go back down in 12-18 months (hopefully) and buy a low-mileage 2018 or 2019 CPO car, or no CPO, but just very low-mileage?

I agree, that's why I only buy private-party (only sell private-party as well). I will never pay sales tax by buying from a dealer or pay "dealer fees". Consequently, the tax component isn't a factor. That puts me out of a CPO car though, unless it's transferable in a private-party sale. Unfortunately, there are so few private-party cars these days. 95% are dealers.

W/O the tax consequences, I'd move a 35K one and wait it out. I'm doing the same on some RE property right now.
BTW, I've seen a few on the market right now. In fact, 249 GTs of various models nationwide.

Private party or dealer you still pay the tax. If you buy it privately you pay tax when you register the vehicle. At least when you trade a vehicle the tax is calculated only on the difference between the trade in price and the selling price.

Not in Arizona. Private party sales are exempt from sales tax.

My .02... You know what you have. If it's been reliable, I'd keep it and get a Fidelity warranty. Sad that 35k miles is considered high.
I also wouldn't call the market "hot." It's really cooled down and only gonna get worse.
See what kind of quote Trent gives you. Fidelity warranties are good exclusionary warranties. Many Porsche people won't be without them. They're also refundable/transferable if need be.

MY 2018 GTC has been a great car over its 50k miles. I do not have any warranties and simply can accept the fact that something could go wrong but thats life. I DONT NEED A WARRANTY

If you are tired of the car and want a change, I can justify selling. I've had cars that I purchased new, liked a lot, and didn't care much that the warranty expired. Yeah, I think about timing the market, but it is like stocks, impossible to time the market. There were two cars, I purchased the extended "factory" warranty. Both times, I never used it, so it was a poor investment. I also found when purchased a newer used car, there was always additional expense to get to my standards.
If I had a 35K or more miles car thinking about selling, I would take to a Merc specialist and get it thoroughly looked over, and if it comes back to the mechanics and your expectations, I would keep it. 35,000 miles isn't much at all; unless it was heavily modified, abused, and tracked a bunch. Or, again, just got tired of the car and wanted the latest and greatest with newer technology. Which is also understandable.
