MECUM AUCTION 2021 MB AMG GT BLACK SERIES - SOLD $550k
A 2021 MB AMG GT BLACK SERIES went across the auction block in Indianappolis.
The bidding stalled at $480k with a reserve on. ($528k with 10% Sales Commission)
Later the Black was sold in a “After Auction Sale” for $550k Nice!!

I wonder what's the reserve $700k?
Softening across the board. I was monitoring the new GT3 prices too. ADM not as aggressive. Recession fear getting very real. Shift, Carvana (lay offs), Vroom all bummed out.

I’m guessing in the $550 range. That 10% buyers premium doesn’t help any.

What would be more fun to discuss/debate is the market for exotics in general .
I subscribe to the position that many buyers are diversifying their investment portfolios by buying these cars where the values will remain essentially flat in these hard times. When the investment and exotic car winds start to blow more favorible, prices will go up and there will be more money to spend

Of course, I didn't see them say otherwise anywhere in their post.
I can't imagine people buying at these prices won't be losing money on these, especially as the market worsens. I think it's very wishful thinking to assume otherwise.

You don’t lose anything unless you sell. The market like the ocean will go up and down over time. Timing on decisions is the key.

The $550k sold price does not include the 10% sellers fee. In addition, this was a "star" listing which probably added around $1k in additional sellers fees.

I’m sure they will be more informed as time passes.
