DEC Cars Coffee on High Street

The last 2022 CC. Really getting crazy now with out of state plates. I estimate at least two dozen Montana plates.

And...The Show Stopper:
(Yes, it's real) Boeing Turbine.

People who register out-of-state are tax cheats. At a minimum they are committing misdemeanors.

I also was wondering when someone in law enforcement was going to start filming the license plates and VINs of these cars. What’s happening is totally obvious, which is plain and simple tax avoidance. I really feel that if a person can afford a car that in many cases costs hundreds of thousands of $’s, that surely they have the money to pay the state taxes and registration on it. Those monies, (hopefully) go to maintaining the roads or supply services that these owners rely on to keep them and their families safe whilst driving locally.

Why should the required road ‘taxes’ only be paid by the lower and middle class whilst the very rich, who by definition as a % of annual income can so much more afford to pay these taxes, avoid them and any penalty for doing so.

I have never owned a ‘Super’ or ‘Ultra’ car, and never will, but I’ve never thought about not paying my state registration or property taxes on any car I’ve owned, including my GTR which wasn’t exactly a cheap vehicle annually.

I think at some point, especially in states like CA where tax is paid in full regardless of a trade etc, things start to go a little sideways with the programming. There are cheats that will try things to avoid reasonable costs and paying our fair share...no doubt. There are also ridiculous tax codes that drive an entire underground economy. California being one of the most obvious (full tax on cars regardless of trades etc).

NO, I was NOT joking. Isn't it odd that the people who can afford these expensive vehicles are the biggest offenders? California is a POS state, I have no pity for the people that live there who keep electing the same scumbags that have destroyed their state and will keep trying to get any kind of income they can from their citizens.
bishman is 100% correct.

Absolutely! You should have seen it in person. There were no good angles on this car....anywhere!

I'm thinking (by the instagram) this guy has something in mind, but just might be a project in progress....hopefully. If not, you kinda had to "look away" as Cramer used to say.

Hi Bish (and others on this topic),

Scottsdale (AZ) is a weird place. It deceivingly has a lot of money, and tons of part-time residents. The part timers live some of the year in other states (very rarely Montana). Most keep their driver's licenses from their other states. When they come here for the winter, they bring their super cars (w/Montana plates). This is why I have mentioned in the past that things really pick up in the winter with out of state plates. Most have plates from their other home state, but many do sport the Montana plates.

In the neighborhood I lived in in far N Scottsdale, 75% of the residents were PT. When April came, most of the homes were vacant until next Sep or Oct.

AZ MVD has a "snitch line". You can call in or email a plate number and car description (they encourage neighbors to turn each other in as many move here fulltime and never change their plate). The challenge here, if you are a part-time resident with an AZ address and a driver's license from another state, say Illinois, and a car with Montana plates, the investigative unit can't do much. It has to be a full time AZ resident, AZ driver's license, and a car with a Montana plate (or any other state) with your name on the registration. Then they have you and the penalties, I understand, are steep. But the guys with the $M cars are only here PT.
