Pure 900 Turbo first impressions. WOW!!
Just loaded tune up a few hours ago from ECC. i have the Pure 900 turbos and catless downpipes. These use the stock housing.
Previously ran the 100 octane tune with catless pipes. That setup was a lot faster than stock. I’d say the difference is even bigger from 100 octane tune to the Pure 900 and 100 octane tune.
Incredible !!! I mean a complete game changer.
I was concerned about losing a little down low and also possible turbo lag. well after driving it for two seconds i could see that was not an issue at all. I have never lost traction with this car off track with my AR1 tires. Even when I was running the smaller 305 out back. I now have newer 325 AR1 out back. Lost traction first time I goosed the throttle.
Insanely fast. Pulls harder down low. No noticeable turbo lag. LOTS more power. Doesn’t fall off after 5k rpm like before. keeps building power to redline.
Im totally blown away. I’m actually glad my stock turbos got ruined. forced upgrade. $6k for turbos and install. Actually that install included upgraded cheek radiators too so not even that much. You do have to upgrade your tune. for me that was only $1k since i had a stage 2 tune already.
Stunning improvement. I’m super happy with my choice and so glad I didn’t put stockers back in

Im choosing to look at it as a fairly cheap upgrade with massive gains vs costly mistake 😊

I should add that this far exceeded my expectations. I expected noticeable gains of course but the power level is just nuts across the whole rpm band.
ECC put a conservative tune on it as well knowing i’ll be beating on it at the track. i’m going to add a second tune for max power I can use for daily and drag strip.

I’m keeping it dialed down for now so no need for fuel upgrades. i have thought about it though. prob another $4k installed and gain another 100 whp. I believe stock system tops off at around 700.
It amazes me how much faster this is than the 100 octane tune on stock turbos. That felt FAST. Was 3-4 mph faster all around the track at my normal braking points. This is a LOT faster. Feels great. taking it to Thunderhill tomorrow and monday. don’t have much experience there but a friend is also going to drive it and he is a pro level driver. I can’t wait to see what it can do.

At the advise of my tuner I did not. Said to stick with stock plugs and stock gap.

Rentech offers upgraded turbos. Perhaps you could get upgraded tune from them ? Prob don’t want to give tunes for other turbos though. Their turbos were super expensive. These are super reasonable at about $3500 with core exchange.

Pure would be about $3.5k for turbos + $3k for tune from EC + tax = ~$7.2k

Exactly - I've already confirmed Renntech won't tune other turbos. Cost wise, the Renntech kit is ~14k, which may drop to 12k given I already have their tune. Add tax and the pre-installation / shipping total is ~$13.2k

Does anyone run these (Pure 900) with the stock cats (no downpipes mods)? I too am using the Renntech tune so that would become throw-away code
