Gone but Not Forgotten
I had an opportunity to get into a car I have wanted for a LONG time - little bucket list moment. So, the GTR Pro is on the market. Not more than a couple available across the country, and mine (er used to be mone) is fairly unique in that it isn't the standard issue Magno Silver w/ Green Stripes. If you are looking for one, I can vouch for this one...and the dealer is about as top shelf as it comes!
I will miss her but...on to her next home!

LOL!
Promise to come back and post a couple of pics when I have it in the garage - doing some upgrades but should be home in a week or 2. It's not a Mercedes, so apologies in advance for clogging up the forum with another brand!

Haha! That's all good, I just left the MB brand for something Italian.

Hi Skilly,
Very nice vehicle. I've always liked it.
Tell your dealer that the bottom cap on the left splitter strut is not seated properly.
Really unprofessional...... :-) :-) :-)
Have fun with your new one.
Kind regards.
Stenzel

I saw this pop up and absolutely love the color and wheels. I have a little bit of an unrelated question @Skilly . I think you came from a GTC convertible. How did you like that convertible comparted to the pro or just a regular R? I'm kicking around trading/selling my GTC edition 50 for an R or convertible.

GTR’s are priced well in the current market. Pro’s are about 200-230k
pick what your picket alloys u to, both are pretty much the same except for some body bits

The better deal if that 'on the limit' difference isn't an issue, is the GTR Convertible. In the last nine months, they have dropped the better part of $40K in value. Not great if you bought 9 months ago, but pretty cool if you are starting to look now. On the other hand, the Pro has been steady and seemingly unaffected by the market ups and downs over the last couple of years.

Looming forward to seeing what you get next.
I let my pro go and my gt500 leaves this week. Not sure what to get next.

I'm going to guess that they are just not desirable. I'd wager that most vert buyers will want the C, and most prospective R owners won't want a soft top. The only benefit I can see to the car, is that it was the only way to get an R with an interior color other than black. It's crazy that there are nearly half as many R convertibles for sale, as R coupes, yet it was a limited production number trim.

I always thought building a convertible R for the track would be a lot of fun. I thought I would do that after I sold the Pro as I waited for the BS to come down in price.
Never got around to it though

*Except the carbon fiber adjustable sway bar front
*Except the hollow rear bars
*Except the uniball spherical bearings on upper wishbone
*Except the carbon sheer panel
*Except the roof bump outs to better fit a helmet

FWIW, this community here is far more supportive and active than the other board for this ride. McLaren Life has got nothing on the people here and the level of quality information being shared.

Whelp, I picked it up this weekend.....A McLaren 720s Spider. I love the GTR platform but....this car makes you forget that pretty quickly.

ML isn't too bad, imo, a lot of the users are just very cult like in their brand loyalty. :P
