AMG GT C upgrades the original NTG5.5 multimedia system

For those of you who are constantly after improving the driving experience, I’m sure you know that interior upgrades are not only an important part of the approach we can take, but they’re more detrimental than external ones. One such upgrade we went through with this AMG GT C Edition 50, in order to modernize the interior and enhance the owner’s overall control experience. So we got the NTG5.5 multimedia system, an electronic LCD panel, and because of the special model, AMG Performance special edition steering wheel.

The complete NTG5.5 package also includes a 12.3 inch screen, the host support, modules, wirings, but also the 10.3 inch multimedia screen. Compared to the factory NTG5 system, this one gets a new large screen with a clearer interface, but also a new CarPlay function.
The AMG Performance steering wheel feels quite thick to the grip, with enlarged paddles, for better handling. I think the photos will show quite clearly that it’s absolutely a visual treat!

I’m after the adapter and the part numbers for the Instrument cluster and the shroud (and possibly the usb connector)

there are plenty of instrument clusters for the 205 but hardly anything for the C190

The kit on here shows the steering wheel but does not list it in the parts. I was under the impression you have to have the updated steering wheel to make this kit work. Having gone on their website the kit does not have the steering wheel included.

Does anyone know of a full kit with everything needed to install?

We know very little about this kit. Missing steering wheel, NOT touch screen…

Not enough information here to make a truly informed decision. But as I’ve stated, no touch screen? Not for me.

from what I know, you don’t have have to have the updated steering wheel. I’m sourcing most of the parts myself and now only need to source the adapter that’s required.

I’ve bought the instrument cluster, media screen and the head unit.

That’s correct. Updated steering wheel is not required to make NTG 5.5 work. However it looks much better than the pre facelift wheel, so might as well. You can get a fully custom wheel for ~$1.5k.

Curious. How much did all of that cost you in USD to piece yourself? Are you buying all OEM parts? I ordered mine from MB House vs ~$4.1k USD without steering wheel.

I actually prefer the original wheel and what I don’t like about the new one is that the distronic (cruise control buttons spent work) and (afaik) neither does lane keep assistance , unless you buy and install a separate motor.

I’ve sourced parts from eBay/online dealers and apart from the HU, others are new. It was more expensive to get the correct IC (A190 part num) than generic A205 IC (it shouldn’t really matter tbh)

I’ve spent £1540 so far (don’t know in USD)

I have done this in a CLS and it works great. This will be my first upgrade when I do purchase the C190. You keep all the OEM functions but get a touch screen, Android auto and apple carplay and can load android apps. I love it.
