I wanted to write a honest feedback about my AMG 2018 GTR with a quick comparison with my previous cars.
Mclaren 570s: Easy to drive, its chassis is better, but big reliability problem. Porsche 991.2: Turbo, reliable but less fun to drive, less agile. Porsche 991 GT3: reliable, easy to drive, lack of sensation during acceleration, better suspension. Camaro ZL1: Reliable, monstrous to drive, lack of rigidity at the rear. AMG GTR: Reliable, overheating brake, too much firecracker when decelerating, good acceleration sensation, bad suspension(Significant mass transfer between the front and rear)
This is not a race or a competition, but videos between friends where no risks are taken, or no one has anything to prove.
Never rely on the appearance of a car.
I have owned a Honda S2000, Civic Type R, and a Honda NSX.
These are very reliable and efficient cars with few modifications.
My best time on that track that day was 1m34s, following my friend's S2000.
Without slowing down when catching up to the Porsche and the S2000, I could have done 1m32s, and with a better line, I think I can reach 1m30s.
With Trofeo R tires and a camber adjustment for the track, I think I can reach 1m28s.
My comparison is based on original cars.
For my first track test, I had the original steel brakes with Tikt scoops.
Big disappointment.
I then installed Ferroro DS1.11 pads with BF Goodridge hoses + RBF700.
On the passenger side I left the Tikt scoops and on the right side I installed aluminum scoops.
The result is clear, simple scoops on the lower triangle are more efficient than the Tikt scoops.
I measured 30°C less on the side with the aluminum scoops.
320°C without scoop, 290°C with Tikt scoop
320°C without scoop, 260°C with aluminum scoop.
I no longer have any brake problems, I drove for 45 minutes without stopping, about 30 laps.
Yes it's a deflector, something simple, who works better than the Tick
Not sure what you have exactly from Tikt but their scoop has been tested and proven to be very effective. It would certainly be better than this deflector... Have some pics to share from the other side?

I cut out a piece of cardboard to make the largest possible piece, which I then cut out of aluminum.
I then drove on the ctrack with the Tikt on one side and my aluminum scoop on the other side. The result was clear, the side with the Tikt was much hotter.
I sold my tikt and duplicate my aluminium deflector.
I didn't create my topic to talk to you about tikt or aluminum, but to give my opinion between McLaren, Porsche and AMG.
What is certain is that the wind-catching surface under the car is much larger with my deflector and that the disc is not enclosed.

My point here isn't to argue whether the aluminum deflector is better or worse than the Tikt ducts. The Tikt ducts have two key design functions:
They direct all scooped air to the center of the rotor, allowing the air to flow between the rotor plates and cool both sides evenly. This prevents heat buildup in the rotor core, resulting in faster heat dissipation. If you don’t cool from the center, the heat stored there will radiate back toward the outer surface (and the pads), making cooling less effective. A deflector-type system, on the other hand, seems to cool only one side of the rotor.
The Tikt duct doesn’t add drag. The rotor vanes act like a powerful pump, pulling all the air that enters the large Tikt opening. It seems that over 90% on the air entered exits via the rotor's vanes.
While it's surprising that the Tikt ducts might seem less effective compared to some other scoops/deflectors for the GT, if your experience shows otherwise, that's perfectly fine.

I have used both products on the F80 and the GTR at Laguna Seca which is one of the most brake stressing tracks without any issues.

I appreciate your response but please keep in mind that in a public forum you may hear questions you don't care for but help others in understanding your setup and results. Your experience with the Tikt scoops vs a handmade, strapped-on aluminum shield is surprising and thus pictures may help to underline your findings.
There are plenty of members that track various GT models and levels of modifications. Same for running against the cars you mentioned. Anything that works positively on a GTR on track is interesting info...

What method did you use to test the temperatures, and where -Exactly- did you place your temperature probes?

Now I'm real curious how you did you perform the measurement because all temperatures you mentioned are considered "cold" brakes... So either your measurement is wrong or you're not driving fast enough to get the brakes hot.
