Base 2017 AMG GT- Track Wheel and tire thoughts?

Hello- Brand new to the MBWorld Forum- thanks for having me. I have about 400 miles of track time on my 2017, base, AMG GT. Rolling on the standard, 19 inch set up, Pilot 4s, 255/35 front, 295/35 rear. It's time for new rubber (and maybe a second set of wheels).
Anyone know how wide I can go on the standard wheel, rear set up?
Can I go 305 or 315 with out body mods/weird camber? Can I go 35 down to 30 sidewall?
Anyone have an opinion on going staggered 20s rear?
I'm a Porsche guy, yes you can kill me (haha), but I LOVE this AMG GT- it is hilarious to drive around everything but GT3's, with really good drivers, on the track in my base GT.
Just trying to get a little more contact on the rears, but don't want to make drastic changes to the car.
Any thoughts, input, advice, etc is appreciated.

I just want to know if I can put 305 or 315 on the stock 19inch AMG GT rear wheel? I see a few threads about this, but I don't see an answer. Has anyone put 305 or 315 width rubber on a stock, 19inch AMG GT wheel? If so, what sidewall did you go to? This is specifically for more contact patch for track days without going to a different track wheel and tire. thanks!

GT has an 11J rear wheel whereas GT C (305/30-20 tire) and GT R (325/30-20 tire) share a 12J wheel, this said, tire makers tables show that on a 11J wheel the maximum recommend tire width is 305. therefore a 315 is considered too excessive

Quick correction: The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 315/30ZR19 or 315/30ZR20 will fit on 11J/19 and 11J/20 wheels, respectively.
However, I don’t have confirmation on whether the 315/30ZR19 will fit the AMG GT base model without any rubbing issues.
I do recall there were discussions on this forum about fitting larger tires on the GT. You may want to search for it.

wheel diameter has no influence on wheel width or recommended tire width
considering that the AMG GT is equipped at rear with a 11J wheel, the recommended max tire width is 305, 315 is too much (according to tires manufactures, not me)

...but not according to Michelin, the de facto primary tire manufacturer for the GT platform.
I’m not disputing that some other manufacturers may not recommend an 11J wheel for 315 tires. I just want to ensure we share accurate information with other forum members who may not be very familiar with tire measurements, so they can understand the available options.

Also consider the fact that most tires above 255 in width, are originally custom developed to a car model and later made in larger commercial availability if other car manufacturer start using them. The Michelin 315 was developed to fit perfectly on 11J rim. In fact, they provide a rim range of 10.5 to 11.5 with 11" is perfectly set in the middle of the range.

I understand, but I believe that table comes from tire rack and not from Michelin or any other tire maker; If you look for their 315/30 offer, the shown tires (P-zero Trofero RS, Sport Cup 2, PS4s, Continental extreme contact, Falken Azenis etc) all share the same table&suggested rim width... in other words, it seems to me a personal tyre rack interpration, and not a specific Michelin guideline

I have to say that Tirerack is in this business for many years, and they are the most trusted source of tire information. Checking their info in the past with several company's representative disclosed that they work directly with each manufacturer to collect all data regarding the technical info.
I just pulled info from Pirelli Website about the Trofero R and compare to Tirerack. even for a wider tire (325) and it fits on 11J. Tire tack info is Spot on.

This chart is useless.
For best performance, ACTUAL tread width should be within 1/2” of wheel width.
