Base 2017 AMG GT- Track Wheel and tire thoughts?
Anyone know how wide I can go on the standard wheel, rear set up?
Can I go 305 or 315 with out body mods/weird camber? Can I go 35 down to 30 sidewall?
Anyone have an opinion on going staggered 20s rear?
I'm a Porsche guy, yes you can kill me (haha), but I LOVE this AMG GT- it is hilarious to drive around everything but GT3's, with really good drivers, on the track in my base GT.
Just trying to get a little more contact on the rears, but don't want to make drastic changes to the car.
Any thoughts, input, advice, etc is appreciated.
However, I don’t have confirmation on whether the 315/30ZR19 will fit the AMG GT base model without any rubbing issues.
I do recall there were discussions on this forum about fitting larger tires on the GT. You may want to search for it.

considering that the AMG GT is equipped at rear with a 11J wheel, the recommended max tire width is 305, 315 is too much (according to tires manufactures, not me)

I’m not disputing that some other manufacturers may not recommend an 11J wheel for 315 tires. I just want to ensure we share accurate information with other forum members who may not be very familiar with tire measurements, so they can understand the available options.
Also consider the fact that most tires above 255 in width, are originally custom developed to a car model and later made in larger commercial availability if other car manufacturer start using them. The Michelin 315 was developed to fit perfectly on 11J rim. In fact, they provide a rim range of 10.5 to 11.5 with 11" is perfectly set in the middle of the range.

I just pulled info from Pirelli Website about the Trofero R and compare to Tirerack. even for a wider tire (325) and it fits on 11J. Tire tack info is Spot on.

For best performance, ACTUAL tread width should be within 1/2” of wheel width.
