GTR 2021 coming soon - random questions

Hello everyone,
as I’ve already mentioned elsewhere, after over a year and a half of searching, viewing cars across Europe , asking questions on this forum (thanks!), wavering and having second thoughts, I’ve finally found a GTR just as I wanted it (facelift model, matt Selenite Grey, very low mileage) except maybe for the CCB... however next week I should finally be going to collect it!
In this regard, I have a few scattered questions for which I feel it’s pointless to open separate threads, so I’ve decided to bundle them all here:

1) Is it possible to permanently disable the start-stop system, and if so, how? (coding? add-on module?)

2) Does the GTR restyle Command system (NTG 5.5 I believe) allow you to upload personal POIs?

3) Is the cabin protection net (option code U40 – “A partition net mounted between the seats and the boot to prevent objects from sliding uncontrollably towards the passengers, for example during sudden braking”) worth using? Does anyone here have/use it?

4) Are there 4 rings in the trunk for securing a cargo net?

5) Is the rear star on the boot available in black? (I’m not keen on chrome, especially on grey...)

thanks

I first want to apologize that I am only able to answer 2 or 3-ish questions you have.

Disabling start stop involves coding as you mentioned or you can unplug the battery sensor where the battery is. You can get an obd dongle with only one purpose being disabling start/stop locked to VIN. I seen sucess of Launch CReader being able to disable start/stop on various models as well just not sure if it supports the GTR.

Not sure about uploading POIs you could try it with Mercedes Me but you can definitely set it in the system in the car by saving it when you arrive to the said POI.

Finally, last but not least, the star can be wrapped, if you really want you could also plasti dip or get some aftermarket ones from ebay that is already darken out.

Actually nevermind on the personal POI answer, it is disabled and not user configurable without special coding I presume for NTG 5.5 https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ntg-5-5-a.html
Might want to ask forum member superswiss since he has a NTG 5.5 equipped vehicle for confirmation, clarification.

I never used it, I actually sold it. If you have it up you can’t see anything in the rear view mirror. Nothing from the trunk can come forward, the trunk has a big step up towards the front that will hold everything there.

Seconded on the net being not that useful, I have it and never use it because

1. I like throwing things from the cabin back there when I'm in a rush (like a jacket), or picking up items.
2. Nothing has ever been thrown forward into the cabin even under hard braking
3. I mount my in cabin camera for track on the crossbar

ok, the idea of buying the partition net has been definitively scrapped
anybody else for questions no. 1 (start&stop deactivation possibility) and 4 (whether or not there are 4 rings for securing a cargo net in the trunk) ?

thanks

I am revisiting that question I still think you still can do it with the scanner if not you could code it with some of those obd dongle or unplug the battery sensor.

thanks, will take a look at it, hoping it will work on C190 platform too, since I don't want to unplug the sensor coming from the battery, I would prefer a neat solution..
